Sexistential Tour 2026

Last time I saw her here it was at L’Olympia with a capacity of about 2000
This time she’s playing an arena of 8000 capacity

I take it she'll do a Gabrielle and curtain off the top of the o2.

She might have to curtain off the bottom of it too if sales don’t pick up.

I’m sure she’s well aware that she can’t fill Co-op Live, but there isn’t all the much alternative if you think you can sell about 7000 tickets. I don’t think there’s a permanent venue in Manchester with a capacity between 3500 and 23000. It’s not as if she will have the energy to play two nights somewhere.

I don't remember. But I agree she just isn't an arena sort of act, or at least hasn't been previously.

Perhaps I'm too influenced by seeing her in very small venues like a boat holding a few hundred people though. But it seems to me the Academy circuit/large clubs is more her fit.

I'd understand the move to arenas if she'd exploded commercially, but where's the evidence of that?

I'm sure we used to pay like £20 to see her and we'd be right in front of her!

How many do you need to sell in a venue like that to make the gig feasible to go through with though? Surely it’s much more expensive to hire out than an Academy size venue, let alone the cost of equipment for a larger scale stage show.

No idea how much it would cost to hire any of the venues. With two massive arenas in Manchester, it wouldn’t surprise me if you could get some very good deals, especially if no one else wants the night.

it is quite ridiculous that more medium-big cities don't have gig venues of around 4-10k capacity. Velodrom in Berlin and AFAS Live in Amsterdam are fantastic venues and perfect fits for an act like Robyn.

When she played at Alexandra Palace my husband got racially profiled on the way in and then my friend got in a verbal disagreement with these two feral straight women before the show even began, so I went to sit in the burger area outside and just ate whilst listening to the concert through the walls; it was good! Would have loved to have seen it in person.

Glasgow is the same. We have the O2 Academy at 2,500 and then it’s the Hydro at 14,300. There’s also the Armadillo at 3,000 but that is all seated and it isn’t really a suitable venue for her.

She’s definitely too big for the Academy but not big enough for the Hydro so I guess they decided it would be best to go for the larger venue. They are still selling tickets for the whole arena at the moment but sales are poor so they’ll likely close off the level 3 seating and move people down.

This is selling really badly in Dublin. They released better seats for the same price I paid for mine in the presale. They must have kept them back as additional VIP seats, but they can't shift them.

Hopefully it’ll still go ahead in Dublin, even if they have to employ curtaining off to the extent of the last Sugababes tour 🥴

She definitely did two dates at Alexandra Palace - which I thought was a pretty ideal venue for her! But even so, I'd have thought she'd be able to sell out one O2 date...

Was clearing through some stuff the other day and found this from a previous gig. £7!

A lot of it is just the venue and the value of the act though, isn't it? I just looked at Dingwalls website, and the next show there has tickets for £22.50, nearly two decades later. You can't really compare what she was charging there in 2007 with what she's charging at the O2 or Co-Op live now.

I take your point to a degree, but that is still a 300% increase when standard inflation since then has been nearer to 80% since 2007. I imagine for the bigger venues the inflation increase on ticket prices is even higher.

And I take your point, but that's a 200% increase (well, plus a bit) not 300%, isn't it?

And when you look at how the industry has changed over two decades and where the money is made, it's not surprising.

I also imagine bigger venues are worse (ask Star to dig out an old Kylie ticket, she'll have one somewhere), and it has trickled down across the board.

I'd struggle to think how small venues could operate charging less than £22.50 a ticket now. And obviously I'm comparing it to the cost of everything else now, but that price for a ticket to a gig doesn't feel in the slightest bit unreasonable.

310% of £7 is £22, perhaps it's the way I've worded it. If prices had increased with iinflationtoday's ticket would be £12.60.

I am actually quite surpised by it. I can understand the rationale with how the industry has changed, but seeing the actual difference in price feels pretty shocking to me.

I agree £22 doesnt feel unreasonable at this level, but the price of arena & stadium shows absolutely is, and prices out a lot of people.

To be honest I'm more shocked (and I appreciate it's a different comparison again) that I paid £22 for Alex Warren tickets in a club here last year, and I could pay anywhere between three to ten times that to see him almost exactly a year later. That feels far more like price gouging to me than a 200% increase over nearly 20 years.

I guess ultimately, the Dingwalls increase has gone up by less than a quid each year - and when you're living through it alongside the cost of everything else increasing, it doesn't feel THAT much. But when you see it written down in increase terms over that period it does seem (and is) massive.

I'm all mathsed out, but if anyone else wants to have a go...

it's normal that smaller venue tickets prices would increase threefold, because rents have been allowed to spiral out of control. I'm always shocked that you can still see a small-ish act for £25 in some of these places. they can't really be making any money from it (or more likely the touring artist is losing money from it).

it's at the arenas and stadiums where they're taking the piss, not the venues that fit 2k people max.

She's switched 3 Stockholm dates next month to a single stadium date in October and it hasn't gone over well in the comments 🥴

I got a text about it, I was very confused as I'm not going to Stockholm. The cheek of them to claim it's a venue "upgrade"...

Yes I had an email but didn't really read it properly as it doesn't apply to me. But it was very much presented as a YAY GREAT NEWS story. No wonder fans are pissed.
