Shania Twain - Dirty Rosie + Little Miss Twain

interesting title. is she on a major? this looks very DIY visually.

Shania Twain is signed to Republic Nashville, a division of Republic Records. She signed with the label in September 2022, marking a new partnership after leaving her long-term label, Mercury Records, where she had been for 30 years.

she actually sounds quite good on the second verse going for it a bit more. other parts are a little rough but I guess the voice is what it is. loving the debut of a sultry new SPOKEN WORD TIMBRE on the middle 8!

7/10 to start with. why is it called Dirty Rosie though? it really should be called You Can't Drive My Truck!

I like it too. Country Shania is back it would seem! I wonder if country radio in the US will make it a hit...

I like that after two listens. Can see it doing well for her

Urban Dictionary tells me:

The most insane form of mouth to cock pleasure imaginable. Only once you have experienced the mind blowing pleasure of a Dirty Rosie will you realise you have never had a real blow job before. You know it's a Dirty Rosie when your entire body shakes and you reach out in search of nearby objects, holding on for dear life! Anybody can suck a cock, but it take a special kind of girl to give you a Dirty Rosie, and it's an experience you will never forget!

this album is for the arts, not the charts. the new clip previewed in Trackstar sounds great. I think it'll be comfortably her best album since UP!

she really deviated from country pop and the lane she found herself in did not play to her strengths. I'm glad she's going back and giving it a bit of honky tonk.

I also like how despite the very painful Mutt breakup she still talks about his production skills and process. it is a shame he fucked her over because they were perfect together creatively.

For me I loved Shania's first four albums (yes even her debut!), but it started to unravel after she separated from Mutt. This is sounding a promising album though so far.

Admittedly nothing she's done has particularly stuck with me since Up!, but I got the impression that Queen of Me was at least moderately better received than Now?

She did have Glastonbury around the Queen of Me release, which I remember helping.

Queen of Me did seem better received in the UK than Now. Glastonbury didn't have much to do with it though, that gig was way after release.

Setlist from the first Harry Styles Wembley Stadium show

She looked sensational from the clips.

Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)
Up!
I'm Gonna Getcha Good!
Giddy Up!

Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?

You're Still the One
Dirty Rosie
(If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here!

That Don't Impress Me Much
Man! I Feel Like a Woman!

Yes it would be strange if she didn't.

Giddy Up is a bit of a surprise I guess, but its catchy and one of the newer ones that would work well with a wider audience.

Lovely and everything

But she clearly hasn't tailored that setlist for the European audience. We don't care about the early country nonsense about boots and beds. We want her titting about to KA-CHING whilst dressed like a duchess of Evilshire, or pretending to be Celine Dion on From This Moment On

I've heard of Tanya Tucker but don't know any of her songs. Looking forward to hearing the new song though. 🙂
