She's calling it a new album but it's 7 tracks. Out in October.
First single is "Freedom Bus". Nice enough if a bit bland. Gives me "Detour" vibes.
"I hope these songs feel like a soothing moisturizer on our chapped hearts"
Yeah, the whole "album" is 25 minutes long. Calling it an album is quite the stretch!Unless these songs are all extended epics, it is a mini album at most Sheryl.
That self-titled album is insanely good. So gritty in production, vocals and lyrics, but with massive tunes too.Marie (assuming she was real and died of heroine) needs to come back and haunt her to spook something more creative out of her. Soak Up the Sun really did herald the end of me getting anything with much grit and texture from her.
One of the songs is title "Flat Earth".
In fairness, she may be a classic white lib, but I've no doubt that she'll be slagging off flat-earthers in that one.I'd argue that all the signs were there on "C'mon, C'mon" as well though. A lot of is verrrry MOR.The cliff of mediocrity she fell off after 'C'mon C'mon' has to be studied.
Maybe it's a Thomas Dolby cover, which to be fair if it was would be worth a listen because it's a great fucking song.In fairness, she may be a classic white lib, but I've no doubt that she'll be slagging off flat-earthers in that one.

Her label were absolutely EVIL in their lead single choices from Wildflower onwards. The obsession with the most Heart FM friendly musical porridge in order to plug an album is such a CONFOUNDING strategy - Beverley Knight's management were exactly the same as it goes
