@big ron @ButterTart and myself all expressed our interest in becoming mods in the last nominations round a few months ago and we all had some support from various Moopy members. The rest of the admin/mod team proposed that all three of us would be elected as we would all bring something different to the team. This was pretty much accepted by the rest of Moopy. That's it. It's not as if we all were elected under the table, everything was very much transparent.

You didn't send indie £50?

Half the Mods here got the position cuz they performed sexual favors for the other half.

Like a perverted Noah's Ark
I don’t remember that time ButterTart popped it in Indie for mod privileges.

Look, let's put this to rest. No money has ever changed hands over mod or admin positions and my acquisition of a shiny new Fender Jazzmaster guitar is entirely coincidental.

I get gobby, the more I drink the worse kind of gobshite I turn into and the more resistant I am to authority, especially police, bouncers and security people. I can get us home though :D

Oh Floppet I have to see this!

I've only been out there a couple of times but have always been so spangled I could've been in TIMBUKTU for all I knew.

I remember the last time I was there we ended up in an Irish Karaoke bar that was up the steepest stairs I remember. I sat and got sloshed with friends, and toppled down at least 20 of them on the way out. Wear sensible shoes the bouncer told me as I was lying there like a scene out of Death Becomes Her. Did I listen? DID I FUCK.

Never knew TIMBUKTU had an Irish bar! Mali really HAS come on in STRIDES!

Few pages late but I’ve been around by this point and have met a fair WHACK of active posters plus more that are no longer here. In rough order:

COB
Kala
monsta
straightorbroken
VoR
Pingu
Octy
Madison
David 5000
Ag
Penelope
Kate
Cwej
Suomi
Beverley
Zengiraffe
dub

Apols if I have missed anyone!

Can confirm I have also exchanged DIRTY LOOKS with Robotboy on multiple occasions at the Swedish Church.

I'm sure Ag can cope with a -1 far better than a 6.

What if it turned out to be really civil, and everyone was actually really meek in real life?

I feel like I'd shatter all sorts of illusions if people actually met me. I'm nothing like my online persona in real life - we were talking at work today about how unenthusiastic and blunt I am.

I've not found people to be MEEK at Moopyrates really. Everyone's just pretty normal. Back in the day I used to mainly just pull someone different at each one. :o

We're not talking about Kala at the moment.

Kala is a sweetheart, really. And not just because I got to see Girls Aloud for free after he got stuck in Sweden. This was incidentally the first time I met COB and straightorbroken.

The Kala discussion has also reminded me that I also met him VERY BRIEFLY for a drink in Stockholm before he had to run off for important Eurovision PRESS DUTIES. :D

I expected Madison to hate me because he was a cunt to me for years on the forum, but I think I won him over with a witty quip about TANITA TIKARAM. :disco:

Tetris-Rock is one of the biggest growers I've ever met from Moopy. First time I met her I was pretty scared of her. But now I think she's bloody fabulous :disco:

Of course I know it! We used to do charity pubcrawls along the A6 (ish) from The Flemish Weaver at Salford to The Dun Mare at Little Hulton. This was in the late 80s so there were lots more pubs than there are now. Mr F had the worst poisoning from a pint in the Star on one of them so he threw up in every pub (and several gardens) from The Stocks at Walkden onwards instead of having a pint.
It's a lot nicer now. They've a good menu, I'm a bit obsessed with their black pudding stack. I think it's a Sam Adams pub though, which is the only strike against it.

It used to be Joey Holts, I've no idea how that insipid dishwater can be called beer. I'd probably be willing to give it another go if the brewery's changed.

No, you're right. It's a Joseph Holt. I knew it was one of those breweries I've no time for. Was the Lion of Vienna a Sam Adams? Their cider was nice.

I met moonbaby once. Can't remember how or why, but I'm fairly sure @Star was there. Was it a gig?

Doesn’t @VoR have a story about Moonbaby, Emma and Kitty Kat meeting or something?

Even though my office is only about a hundred yards from the Lion of Vienna I've never properly been in there, I think I did once but I was too drunk to remember anything clearly other than it was full of pensioners. I've walked past it thousands of times and don't know which brewery it is. When we go out from work we usually go to Fanny's, I love it in there although, much like the Retreat, it's full of snobby wankers. Their pub quizzes are so much fun though.

Ew Joseph Holt, there’s loads round these parts

I have a desire to visit a couple of Holt's establishments but purely for tourism purposes because they were haunted by Mark E Smith. They're probably absolute shitholes.
