I’d be happier with her full discography finally getting onto streaming rather than them exhuming whatever she recorded in her final months.

Sean nos noa in particular is a real loss.

Imagine being around when she first came onto the scene: it must have been thrilling.

Seeing this thread bumped, and this post particularly made me think of when I first saw her live, in the glamorous(recently demolished) Newport Centre in April 1990.

Nothing Compares 2 U would have only recently left #1 at this point, and IDNWWIHG was released about a month previously, so she was pretty much as big as she ever was at that point. I'd only loved very straightforward pop until I discovered her via ITV's short lived 'The Roxy' in 1998 performing Mandinka.



God, she was electrifying.

Now Instagram has reminded me, Universal Mother is going straight on.
