Morning kids. Some stormy conditions around here. Water leaking through bay window roof. Yay.
 
Mr S has picked the worst POSSIBLE moment to go for a walk as usual. He'll be moaning when he gets back but PERHAPS YOU DON'T ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO GO FOR A WALK FOR A DESIGNATED DURATION AT THE SAME TIME EVERY SINGLE DAY NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER OR WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD

At the moment we're just getting occasional sharp gusts but it was absolutely throwing it down last night. Well beyond "pissing" and into "bucketing".

I'm afraid they don't let Eurostars run with the waves shaking the Eurotunnel so hard :( You might have to adopt them :(

I'm not worried about the tunnel, it's more the fact that the transport network on the UK side grinds to a grim halt at the barest glimpse of adverse weather.

I think I'll leave them at the local Oxfam if push comes to shove and she never returns.

Me too Indie! Got up to find half an inch of water on the windowledge and lost count of the number of cold drips I got down the back of my neck whilst trying to clean it up. My windowledge now sports an 80l storage box sat upon an old duvet cover catching the drips, luckily it's just coming through in a straight line and not all over. I've inspected the slates by looking out of my bedroom window but can't see any have slipped so I think it might be the lead flashing that's come away from the wall because I can't see that part without going out and up a ladder (it's below the bedroom windowsill).

Hope yours is manageable too.
 
Floppet to come round and mend everyone's houses now.

Fortunately, the storm seems to be staying outside for me.
 
I've just been out in it to get Ms Ron some painkillers because she has a womb and all of the mental bullshit that comes with womb ownership. HERO.
 
I'm also now hiding in my office under the pretence of work because she's getting on my fucking NERVES.
 
I was about to pop to Lidl for some much-deserved shitty treats but I’m displeased to see that it’s now RAINING :evil:
 
I just popped to the shops and I have to say it wasn't very exciting. Very wet and windy but nothing to cancel anything over.
 
Many reports of power cuts. My phone is only on 38%. Bit anxious.
 
I was going to do a speedy shop run but have changed my mind.

I'm listening to an Amorphous Androgynous album instead. Got it for £3 in one for Fopp's clearouts (proper Fopp not HMV Fopp). Forgot I owned it. It's not very good.
 
The wind has shut the Humber Bridge for the second time ever.

I think England must be getting hit harder than up here. I woke up at 7 this morning and wondered what all the fuss was about. One girls storm is another’s for drying the washing.
 
Whilst sat eating my dinner I mused "what's all that black stuff in the back of the fireplace?". After dinner I discovered it was a puddle of rainsoot.
 
it's picking up here and I am going to make a big comforting lasagna to get in the mood. the forecast seems to predict more rain than wind though

more worried about the summer house which is basically my baby now, that area will be hit pretty hard. I can't cope with a tree through the roof, PLEASE MOTHER EARTH DON'T DO IT

Scotland's forecast for the next couple of days is basically strong winds and rain so if you've got a drying day, make use of it!

Apparently SNOW is meant to hit here tomorrow. I do hope so.
 
It's quite something to behold now. The wind is blowing rain up and over the roof of the house opposite.
