Labyrinth is just soooo good and Sweet Nothing is such a lovely tonic. the album ends really strongly.

Okay the Fearless and 1989 lewks are iconic. The others - not so much.

the way this closing verse builds and builds reminds me of Cardigan quite a LOT. and the droning synths are mildly giving 400 Lux by Lorde. NEW FAVE!

love love LOVING this album right now. it's so easy to put on and luxuriate into. finally got into Karma properly. Bejewelled, Labyrinth, Mastermind - the second half runs smoother than the first and is full of fantastic songs.
 
I’m… not really feeling it

There are a few songs that made me prick my ears after evermore, but I realised I might not really like her voice. She doesn’t seem to challenge her vocals much, so it sounds a bit disinterested

(Apart from that one where she’s really high pitched which is a choice)
 
"Labyrinth" is the latest grower for me. The verses remind me of "Dreams" by The Cranberries.

I've decided that I really like how subtle and slow-building the album is. It's as if she's actually made it for the vinyl which means you can start with something as amorphous as Lavender Haze and then go into the stripped back darkness of Maroon before launching into the first certifiable one-listen-and-it's-already-a-banger of the album.

I love Bejeweled so much. it's completely rock solid, definitely her best "glitter gel pen" song in a long while. I actually think it might be better than Gorgeous (and I love Gawjusss) :disco:
