Tea Towels

According to some dude on Quora they're called tea towels because in the OLDEN DAYS they were used to polish fine china used for tea.

Yes, I say kitchen roll as well. If someone said kitchen towel though, I'd think of that rather than a tea towel.

I was once called "posh" because I said kitchen towel instead of kitchen roll.

Nowadays I just rub my nob on the curtains anyway

Kitchen towels are the little ones that are thin and meant to be used for various tasks in the kitchen like this one.

I love a good tea towel chat. The term reminds me of my former life as a COMMONWEALTH RESIDENT.

The biggest issue I have with them is how THIN some of them are. A couple of dishes and they're already soaking. I need my tea towels to be absorbent.

I have more decorative mugs like these than tea towels (I'm more likely 'save' nice decorative ones that seem too nice to be repeatedly soaked and eventually worn away)

I think ones with birds on look rather nice:

The most practical and affordable ones that I know of/use are these; they are thin but rather good for drying the dishes
