Isn’t this, like, the most evocative song ever? It’s always getting played on Old Cuntz FM and unlike all the other knackered 80s staples, I never tire of it and it always makes me smile. So uplifting and so crisp with that 80s production, yet timeless.
There are similar songs that, if you’re 704, transport you back to a place and time such as “Take on Me” but none quite beats this. I think it was a summer song and those burn themselves into your memory more.
I always used to think for TFF that it was downhill after the cooler dark first album and not as good when they became sellouts here, but in hindsight this is surely their finest achievement.
