Tennis 2026

I think she just enjoys playing and competing. she's not being humiliated, the previous loss went to a third-set tiebreak.

Thanfkully Federer got the beach blonde out of his system before he hit it big:

Cincinatti have kept it classy with their wildcards for the men's main draw

Jack Draper
Gaël Monfils
Stan Wawrinka
Grigor Dimitrov

Truly a horrid concoction. Looks terrible on him and that’s without even addressing the appropriation aspect.

Also I kind of lol’d at the Vondroušová text that has come out which kinda suggests she maybe wasn’t that frightened of her refused doping visit. The text to her boyfriend translated from Czech as “there’s a fucking cunt from doping outside.”

in other news... anytime I plan my day around a Jpeg final it gets rained off. she's meant to be playing Eala right now in DC for the 500 title, but the rain there is fucking torrential and looks likely to go all day. :eyes:

I love it when the gay intern at an ethics committee decides to release the 💅 emoji with the details behind a case…!

But it’s interesting that I actually believe more now from the whole story that she just didn’t know the rules than was trying to evade a test. I am not 100% certain on tennis rules but it sounds like it’s the same as athletics- you have an hour where you HAVE to be available but you can be requested for a test anytime. If she wasn’t at the location or hadn’t answered the intercom, it would not have been logged as a refusal or a missed test, but since she was there and contacted her agent to see what it was all about suggests she was just clueless.

How these athletes don’t know how to conduct themselves is a different matter, though…

My best explanation is she was doing recreational drugs & panicked. Otherwise just take the risk of a failed test & come up with some BS excuse like 20,000 others. At most it'd be 2 years but probably less.

Yes it’s the same for tennis indeed these days.

Eala's shotmaking was fucking unreal today. I never saw this level of aggression from her, she was blitzing winners.

I see that Emma is missing the US Open

:nononono:

Any bets on whether Draper makes it to New York?

Draper is supposed to play Atmane in Canada today :eyes: let's see

poor Emma. she'll be lower top 100 at this rate.

he was just rusty I think. didn't play too badly but he's been out so long.

Carlito has pulled out of Cincinatti. even if he does play the US you'd have to make Sinner heavy favourite...

oh I didn't see Zverev had flunked out. lovely. with Cobolli also out and Felix injured I'm not sure who's winning - Fritz has been impressive lately and Shelton might have a shot?
