The Comeback

It was only made better by Jane's completely unimpressed face throughout.
 
I think I might improvise chopping meat at work tomorrow. Hopefully someone will think I'm having a nervous breakdown and send me home.
 
Improv was the highlight from start to finish, but also when she wants to impress the cops by remembering some of the catch-term dialogue from her crime show experience (as seen on her episode 1 show reel).
 
Oh god when Mickey tells her he has cancer and she starts to blabber I nearly geared up, it was such a sweet Valerie moment.
 
"Oh Red, after all these years....you can really ACT!" :D
 
The Seeing Red clip was far and away my favourite part of this one. I really wish they could actually make an episode of it.

Lisa was brilliant, I was rooting for Valerie and :daf:-ing her unquenchable desire for validation (I feel you, doll) all at the same time. And the dance instructor-director is a humorous addition, I loved her popping and locking for absolutely no reason.

I was always disappointed there was never an episode of Room & Bored on the dvd of the first series. It can't have been that costly to write and film. But yes, that scene was amazing as was Mickey's reaction to it.

Valerie was excruciating at times, you could see why she drove Paulie G to heroin despite him being a grade a twat to begin with. The stand off with Jane at the beginning and then the sudden switch to "We're filming episode 4!" made me spit my vanilla chai tea over my ipad.
 
This show is absolutely everything. It's Nighty Night levels of dark.

There will be justice if they don't get an Emmy.
 
The 'Jane! I'll do anything you want me to!' after speaking to the New York Times woman was also brilliant.

I don't want this series to end.
 
Yet to download, but season 1 is now on Sky Demand, with the 2nd Series having it's UK premier party on Atlantic in February. I wonder if the DVD will be out before then.

Another sublime 13/10 episode. Thought it was very odd there was no music playing over the closing credits this week.
 
I think this show is more a tragedy than comedy really, I feel more like crying than laughing lately. Please oh please don't kill Mickey.

This was my favourite episode. She's finally a bit more human (when having a nervous breakdown).
 
I'm one episode behind… Episode 5 was brilliant. I was laughing out loud when at the worm having the fight with whatshisface and then Valeria clearing up the set after… 'There it's fixed!' But the end bit with the New York Times woman telling her how brave the performance was, was actually lovely. :o And then of course Valerie's reaction afterwards… :D

Valerie's face during the press junket scene with the feminist blogger - does she say "meaty tops" at the end of her piece about Seth Rogen? And the bearded lady with the slut red lips!

Val and Marky-Mark having their own Madonna and Warren Beatty "she doesn't want to live off camera, much less talk" moment. There was so much lump in throat moments I didn't know what to do with myself. I thought Mickey died twice alone.
 
I don't like the convoluted ways in which they explain why they're still filming, it throws me off.
 
So emotional watching it this week.

Lisa Kudrow is just amazing.
 
In my head Valerie is going to win the Emmy, but Mickey will be dead, and without Mark there beside her she'll renounce Jane and reality tv and finally learn to accept herself.

Juna's party is going to be fun. Paulie G will somehow find his way in.
 
It's a one hour finale so that's like two episodes.
 
I really do hope that the title 'The Assasination of Valerie Cherish' isn't a literal foreshadowing of the finale. Kudrow wouldn't kill her off would she?
 
Please not before she appears on Web Therapy. This NEEDS to happen!
 
Well, SHE GOT IT.

I did enjoy that although the faecal matter issue felt a bit unnecessary although it did deliver Brad Goreski Shirtless so it had one purpose.

I was a bit concerned that when Valerie left the Emmys and it went from tv footage to carefully directed film it was going to be some sort of dream or a scene from Seeing Red where she visited Paulie G after an overdose or something but thank heavens it wasn't. Kellan Lutz's doorway scene left me a bit damp, and to quote Mickey, after all this time he can really act!

Marvellous.
 
The first half was drawn out more than it should have been. Just because you got C List movie stars with some name recognition doesn't mean you need 15 minutes with each. Also when did Kellan Lutz become cute and more than just muscles he was oddly sexy.

The second half was perfect, it made sense that they turned Jane into the villain in the last few episodes and I loved that they shifted from the footage to give us the real Valerie for the last five minutes of the show.

I doubt they will do another season and I kind of don't want them to unless it's in ten years time. It works perfectly with the first season and now I want HBO to release the complete series so I can get my hands on it.
