The Conservatives: The Wilderness Years (1 Viewer)

They're starting to get the whiff of Truss II from her - just waffling absolute crap and hoping some of it sticks.

Clearly this lot have learned a lot of important lessons since they elected Liz Truss…

How are they proving themselves to be better than the Labour Party? :D how do you compare an active government with a bunch of people with no actual power talking shit on a stage?

These people are actually allowed to VOTE!

Is the sullen aryan twink at 26 seconds that man's aide, son, or lover?

Imagine gerrymandering the vote to get Liz Truss into the final two and squeezing out the moderate, living THROUGH Liz Truss, and then doing the same thing again!

Wow! This is genuinely quite exciting to watch the last few days. It’s like the old days of Big Brother,
Except I don’t want to support the black female for once.

I really can’t be arsed with Kemi as leader. It’s just going to be 4 years of culture wars that Kier will not know how to counter. I can just imagine all the soundbites she’s going to come up with to rile up the gammons…

Bold of you to assume Keir has 4 years in him! There’s no way Labour are going into the next election with him!

As funny as all this is, my worry on this is that it guarantees a Conservative swing to the far right, which may make them less electable in the short term, but they or Reform will probably get in eventually. Just look what’s happening in Europe.

You still need to meet the electorate where it is though - and where it is not, on the whole, is where Jenrick or Badenoch are. Also, for those who want that, they have Reform. Why go for the poor imitation?

Don’t worry, it’s all leading up to a Farage- helmed electoral pact anyway.

the Tories are toast. they're getting more and more niche. it's really insane that they have no ability whatsoever to read the room.

I don't even think a pact with Reform/Farage is particularly dangerous at this point. the bigger danger is probably Labour seeing the potential of that happening and moving further to the right.

all that said Kemi can be quite articulate and seems more human (in manner) than many Tories now. but clearly she's capable of a gaffe and I don't think she has what it takes to do a Meloni, temper her taste for culture wars in the short term, play the long game to get into a position of real power, etc. she's destined to be discarded in two years or less.

She's as mad as a hatful of squirrels. Plus, are the Tories who didn't vote for Sunak really going to put a black woman in charge? They chose TRUSS rather than a brown man, for fuck's sake.

She's the definition of Dunning-Kruger, this is a classic example.
