The current discourse around Monday

My lurgy has passed, right on to ms ron. I am making a life restoring chicken broth while she snoozes

Throwing a medicinal chippy lunch into the mix. Can't remember the last time I went to a chippy before 5pm.

Just been for my annual asthma check with the (new) nurse. First blood pressure was 225/160, she read it, a look of panic crossed her face and as she opened her mouth to say she needed to get a doctor I told her it's OK, do it again then look at my notes on the computer. Next one was 195/130 and the third was 123/88. So I get to do them at home for a week, like I do every year.

My GP blood pressure readings are always wildly inaccurate because I walk to the doctors.

I recall being monitored for 24 hours once. That was different.

I don't warrant a 24 hour one, thankfully. I can't imagine the annoyance of that cuff inflating automatically, how do you even sleep? Mine is just because I hate being in the waiting room with the sick people so I'm stressed to hell by the time I go in to the nurse.

I know, and at mine they always say JUST POP IN AND TAKE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE on the machine in the WAITING AREA

Yeah it's really going to be low then :eyes:

I've got my heart review at the end of next week and have got to do 7 days of reading before.

The first time I had mine measured I was at the heart institute being tested for the genetic heart condition it transpires I have (THANKS MUM), and they couldn't get the systolic below 200 despite trying about 8 times. They wanted to admit me to hospital there and then, but it was only after I insisted I had no symptoms that they decided to start me on medication, and I went home fully expecting to not survive the night.

It's considerably below that now, but still above where it should be, so I'm prepared to be given a third medication next week. And told to lose a bit of weight (fair enough) and give up coffee (fuck off).

White coat syndrome!

I just spent an hour trying to save electricity in the hope of REWARDS just to find out I hadn't registered properly and it didn't count

Bollocks to smart meters and CONSTANTINE THE BLOODY OCTOPUS

Mr Sheena bangs on about this all the time. I like the idea, but honestly, it’s ridiculous. I get looks every time I go near the microwave and every Sunday now has to be spent in a mad loop of doing ALLLLL the washing and cooking in one four hour period.

Life’s too short for the 50p you probably save.

I'm a bit like this with using the dryer. The amount of time it takes to hang the washing out and taking it back down etc, sometimes I just put it in the dryer!
