So I’m up to episode 6 of The Traitors Australia and I have one question to ask, which I don’t think is a spoiler at all:

Why has not a single person cried compared to our 5000 breakdowns by this point in the UK version?

Can we make this thread spoiler tags if you’ve got anything to say that’s actually about who goes when etc?

Enjoy Cwej. I think it’s just as good, but much different to the UK version just because the participants aren’t as dramatic.

I’m on episode 7. I’m enjoying it but it’s definitely not quite as good a season of reality tv as Uk one. I do like Australian reality tv (based on their Survivor and their Amazing Race) but they really do have a weird way of introducing players halfway through a season. Just edit them better to start with!!

I liked their lack of drama and the fact they were quite happy to shaft each other. I still think Marielle's introduction by way of the question "What is the biggest lie you ever told?" rather put Amanda in the shade as far as screen villains go. I mean, this is someone who has no need of friends at all in her life.

Well this was very entertaining, but felt very different to the UK one by the end.

The ending
was a bit of a heartbreaker. Poor Craig was gutted and quite rightly. He thought he'd just won $125k and was betrayed by the closest person to him in the final 5. Bless him. Alex played a brilliant game though.

It seems their end game is slightly different to ours. He said if there are two traitors or two faithfuls at the end they play a game of 'steal or share',.. so what? They could both choose steal and end up with noone winning anything at all!?! That would be very unsatisfying if it ever happens.

I felt there was one player that was pretty much bullied by a mean girls mentality (actually two players, but one of them went out very early), and it left a slightly bad taste in my mouth, but both the people that were a little bit bullied WERE REALLY ANNOYING so i could kinda see why.

Trying not to read the above in case of spoilers. Is all of this available on YouTube or Daily Motion etc?

I torrented... something I've done in years. But pretty sure it's all on Dailymotion too but with loads of ads, which i struggle to block on here.

Thanks. Not sure I can be bothered torrenting again, but will check dailymotion.

I've just been burned before there though, when all episodes of a season of Survivor South Africa were there, but the final only was without audio.

I watched them all with an adblocker (someone posted a good one here) on daily motion.

The only thing that drove me crazy was the Australian/USA format of repeating the last 5 minutes before an ad break in the first 5 minutes after the ad break. 10 minutes of the same scene

I have tried Dailymotion for stuff but I just can't get an adblocker working properly on there.

Yeah, that drives me a little crazy too - I think it would drive me crazy even if there WAS a break for adverts, let alone without.

Does anyone know where I can watch this? Same goes for the British version. I can’t access BBC play from here.

Sorry if it’s already been mentioned, don’t want to risk any spoilers so I haven’t read anything.

There’s no spoilers and all the answers are what all the posts above you are saying…! 😂

Maybe put a YouTube/Dailymotion link in the first post?

Thank you, I’ve found it on Dailymotion, no ads or anything.

Already managed to watch three episodes. This is very addictive and I think I like it more than The Mole, but I’m not sure I see any connection with the challenge and the actual game (unlike in the Mole).

Mark, the gay, is really cute and been very clever so far.

Ublock Origin is the only blocker that seems to work. I got zero ads with that. It was intolerable with others. Literally ads every 2 minutes. If you are on a Mac, that means downloading Firefox or Chrome as a browser.

I’m on episode 10 now (I’ve barely done anything else other than watching this since yesterday :o) and there’s still a player that hasn’t even been introduced and almost no screen time at all. How weird.

It’s great TV though, I can’t wait to see what happens. Looking forward to watching the UK one too.

Just like in The Mole, I love the lack of personal sob stories and dramas and shit like that.

I became low-key obsessed with this Sherry Pie editing. The only reason I could find was that he had allegedly been inappropriate?

At one point they were like ”only this and that hasn’t showed up yet” and I could swear he wasn’t at the table at first so I thought that he had done something and got out…but then he showed up so maybe since others were introduced late in the game, I’m thinking he’s boring and they will only show more of him when his time is up.

Not watched this yet, but Australian Survivor has a habit of doing similar. You become aware of someone about 6 episodes in who you never noticed before and who seemingly played no part in anything prior to that episode. But the format there frequently involves focusing on one team, so I guess that explains it to some extent.

Yes - Odette!

Ok so finished and I really felt angry by the end even though I knew exactly what was going to happen.

I thought that Craig was an idiot and I really couldn’t understand why Kate didn’t try to point out to him that all the people he really was close to and trusted (well mainly Nigel, but also Marielle) turned out to be traitors. God it was so frustrating how pathetic he was.

The glorious downfall of the original traitors was just too good, I especially didn’t think it would happen that fast to Marielle but she really blew it and took down Nigel with her. I was so pleased at how well Alex played it and was rooting for her for that.

My favourites were however Marc and Kate.

Marc was great and it was obvious that he would get murdered … and that utterly annoying and stupid Fi seemed to have forgotten about och what Marc told her about Marielle. Once she was eliminated and that whole shitty story with Matt was out of the way, Teresa could use her head and listen to Kate… and so with Marc out I really has wanted Kate to go all the way and was a bit annoyed that she became a traitor.
Her mistake was not to try to immediately convince Teresa and Craig about Alex being the traitor. Or trying to get Craig banished/killed from the start. Killing mysterious Paul who Teresa suspected to be a traitor was a big mistake.

I too think MK and Matt were bullied, but they were both annoying and causing a lot of unnecessary noise so it was good getting them eliminated.

What i found weird, but compelling was:

The dramatic tension of the final reveal coming not from a reveal to the audience, since we know who wins for almost 10 minutes before it is formalised, but the tension that comes from waiting for the reaction of the final faithful having been shafted. It was glorious, and so much more enjoyable than the reveal of The Mole

Oh absolutely!

I would have wanted a reunion though, would have wanted to see the reactions of all the others too.

I think Kate and Marc were so much better than any of our faithfuls in the UK version.

I felt like there were a couple more slips from the Traitors too - Marielle's slip about Fi saying to go for Teresa if she went out that night and then Kate and Teresa putting it together in the car was a great moment.

Alex was overall a decent player and deserved her win but that very last moment between her and Craig, I played over about 10 times... it's delightfully AWFUL. :o He was useless but it broke my heart a little bit.

I too am obsessed with Paul. The way they would just about show his votes, but not his face most episodes, was so funny. :D I saw a rumour of a nasty fall out with Teresa somewhere, but it's really hard to find any info at all to be honest.

I actually felt really sorry for Matt. He was so annoying, but like I say, I felt the women were a bit Mean Girls on him, especially Fi and Teresa.

I just did the maths on Crazy Psychic Chloe getting 2 out of 4 right by pure chance and I believe it's only about 13%, so not quite statistically significant enough to say that she has special powers - but I'd say it's interesting enough. I do think mediums are generally very astute people that then convince themselves of their own powers sometimes. I'd love to know why she walked out :D

Yes! To be honest the editing made it very obvious how the show would end from about 2 episodes earlier, but the ending and reveal was all very satisfying viewing.

I felt like regardless of what superpowers or top jobs they had, almost all of them were terrible at guessing, and I guess that’s human and as it should be, but I wonder if not being in the show might hurt their chareer (especially the psychic or the two ”bullied” men).

There is one flaw in this game, compared to a standard mafia game. The prize makes the traitors turn on each other, and ultimately give the faithfuls less incentive to protect each other. The more people you get out of the way, the more money you keep to yourself. It makes great television though.

Just started watching the UK one and how is it possible that I had no problem understanding the Ozzies while some of these Brits really should come with subtitles?! :bruised:

I am surprised this has not been bought by a UK channel. I'd watch.

I actually just noticed channel 10 (who show it in Australia) have acquired both the UK and US first seasons. Although it didn’t rate well on TV it must have been quite the steaming success.
