The United Kingdom: The Liz Truss CRASHING THE PORK MARKET WEEKS 🐷🐖📉📅🥬

My parents didn’t help either. Not that they would have been able to.

Me too. If I count as “your generation”.

I’ve had no help from my parents on anything.
Not that I'm questioning how hard you (or anyone else) worked to get there, but you were earning a well above average salary by the time you could afford to buy, weren't you?

A generation ago you could earn under the average wage and still afford to buy a house. That's not the case any more, is it?

What will the next poll be?

I'm a bit worried about Labour getting cocky and pushing too hard in the more historically safe Tory seats. That unspoken but obvious non-aggression pact with the Lib Dems has been working out REALLY nicely in the by-elections.

We didn't take money from our parents either, but did combine our money.

Mr Star has been on the phone 2 hours now trying to sort our mortgage for the next few years.

The meeting with the OBR lasted 30 minutes, I’ve had longer meetings about HATS. I’ve probably had shits that lasted longer.

Oh I understand, but also I did mine solo, which negates a big part of that. Mr Sheena was a student at the time…

Truss's government aims to win back the public's favour by boldly “carpet bombing the entire country” with investment zones.

This is against the advice of the Treasury officials who are extremely concerned about the potential liability of not capping the number of areas allowed to get favourable tax and planning treatment. There is also concern that some of the tax breaks under consideration will last for 10 years.

Within the new investment zones, businesses will receive big tax cuts, with options under consideration including the abolition of stamp duty, employment taxes being slashed, planning rules swept aside and companies able to completely write off investments in plant and machinery.

She's made a spectacular tit of herself. The arrogance of thinking she would be able to do those local radio interviews yesterday and just trample over the presenters - who advised her that that was in anyway not a TERRIBLE idea? :D

In case you hadn't noticed Liz - local radio hosts are not part of the establishment/elite/BBC. They don't have to reign in their questions and go soft on the Tories for fear of lost earnings/career progression. They can ask, and say whatever theyike, and if you don't have answers you are just going to look like a massive TWAT.

I’d be amazed if she even consulted her communications team.

She had them shipped out of Downing Street and into Whitehall so Therese Coffey could have their office around Number 10. They’re not working closely with her at the moment.

That was a gesture to show she respected her MPs, who in her words “are more important than the media”. Classic Liz!

Yes, I think it was Pippa Crerar who made a similar point - that Truss was pitting herself against some very unapologetic journalists by doing the regional round (and very much making herself a hostage to fortune).

That and the fact that it just smacks of cowardice.

You're that confident and defiant in your policies? Put yourself infront of studio cameras and defend them nationally.

OH WAIT....She's doing that on Sunday when she'll be interviewed by the totally non-partisan, non-biased LAURA K! What a relief - I'm sure she'll give her a grilling. :basil: :basil:

Just insane behaviour!

The fact this is being presented as we need to cut public spending, like slashing the budget by £45 billion wasn’t their idea in the FIRST PLACE!

Liz you ain’t smart enough to GASLIGHT US honey.

But we simply MUST give up our wasteful and decadent public services to fund these massive tax cuts for the rich! It'll make all our lives better in the long run!
