A proportion of the protective response is in the first dose but importantly, it's not built up until at least 10 days from the injection. So please be careful everyone.

Does she live in her own home?

I guess when one vaccinator could do dozens of people in the time it would take to do one home visit, and the fact that if she's housebound and following rules re bubbles/visitors etc, then it's understandable they are focusing on getting the numbers in.
 
Yes she does. I'm guessing it's something to do with how unstable the Pfizer one is too? - maybe they'll wait for the Oxford one. I hope his sister will get it too as she is living with her at the moment to look after her. But I guess that varies by region.
 
I wish :o I feel utterly rotten! Pounding head too. Hopefully breakfast/paracetamol will help.
 
My dad's wife is getting hers on Saturday. My dad's slightly younger than her though, turns 70 in July, so nothing for him yet!
 
Interesting the BMA are calling for the gap between the two injections to be reduced to 6 weeks rather than 12. I hadn't realised the WHO recommend a maximum of 4 weeks, and obviously the manufacturers says 3 weeks.

Let's not screw this up aswell, we've started so well :o
 
We appear to have been bumped up the priority list as a special school and have had to give all our contact details so hopefully getting the vaccine soon.
 
They’ve just sold the contract to one of their Tory donor MATES so expect the whole thing to go TITS UP shortly.
 
I had an appointment for my vaccine this coming Wednesday (a 2 hour drive away :square:), but they called to say they never received their shipments so its delayed indefinitely until they do? I'm so frustrated by this
 
My grandad (82) is finally getting his tomorrow morning. He called the GP after receiving an email from the council saying they were doing over 70's now so if you're over 80 call your GP. The person he spoke to said he was "probably on a list". When he asked of she could maybe look at the list she replied "ooh no the list is upstairs and we don't go upstairs!" :D

Long story short they rang him back later that day and now he's getting his vaccine. :)

Meanwhile my mum is still having massive troubles signing on to give the vaccine. Her recruitment was being done by some two-bit non- medical recruitment who were almost laughing at her answers to their questions because she was over answering their tick box questions. And then nothing happened again. She's ended up going down the almost-nepotism route and potentially will be working for the ward sister she worked with with she went back to work back in March as she's running a vaccination clinic nearby. When my mum went back to work shr said the process was extremely simple and she was back working within a few days. Whereas volunteering to administer the vaccine had been a nightmare.
 
Looking forward to adding the Novavax vaccine to the poll once approved, which is effective against the UK and South African variants, made in Teeside :disco:
 
Does seem that Moopy vaccinations have stalled, presumably because all our frontline posters have been jabbed and we don't have any over 70s.

Which means that @lolly will probably be the next person :D

Excuse me Indie! Our @lolly has already been vaccinated so it is likely to be @Floppet or ME, unless we get a fleeting visit from our dear departed @Zu-Klara
 
I've been using that date prediction site for Mr L, and it's all over the place. It was saying start of April at the weekend, but is back to May/June now. I assume that's because the rate of vaccination has stalled somewhat this week.
 
My mum is getting her first jab today :disco:

I don’t really understand how it works because her 69 year old, retired non vulnerable friend had it too. My 76 year old very much non vulnerable (aside from age) step mum had it a few weeks ago, but my 72 year old Dad who is vulnerable and at the same surgery hasn’t had the call yet.
 
Apparently we dropped to 20th in the vaccination administration charts. You guys are at the top.

Also the provincial government in Ontario has screwed the numbers and they actually only vaccinated 50k instead of the 100k they were reporting :DAF:
 
According to the latest stats the UK is third behind UAE and Israel. But they are small rich nations. Serbia appears to be rocketing up the vaccinations per 100 hot list.

The vaccinations chart is fun!

Also, they are both arguably cheating. UAE speeding things up by not prioritising more vulnerable people and Israel aren't bothering vaccinating (or counting) the Palestinians. :manson:
 
It is of course a matter of debate (in my mind) why an 89 year is more important than a 40 year with cancer.
