UK General Election 2024 - Results Day

Will Starmer have a LECTURN? Will it be CUSTOM?

Or will this be dragged out of storage?

Was Sunak’s speech any good? I couldn’t get my boss off the phone.

Oh I fell asleep and missed Steve Baker being an utterly PETULANT loser on every TV channel

Keir Mather now an aged twink. We have a new Baby of the House:

Our area: 18k Labour 13k Conservative 7k Reform

Cheers Nige, split the right wing vote nicely

290 for "Party of Women", never heard of them, terfs ("yes of course they are" --Google)
Edit: oh it's the Posie Parker party, I've not been keeping too close an eye on the TERF stuff beyond Rowling

Do we have a thread for Nadine's greatest hits last night yet? I'd not seen this one

Nads saying that Boris Johnson knows what hardship is hilarious. They're so sheltered and ridiculous.

Her hangover this morning will be quite the stinger

I had to miss a lot of this due to SOMEONE'S NEVERENDING MENTAL BREAKDOWN but I'd just like to bid a FOND ADIEU to LIZZY T, MICKEY FAB and my BELOVED TIZ COFFEY

I'm fine too, despite necking quite a lot. I guess it was spread out over 6 hours, mind you.

Green finishing on 4 is great. Reform underperforming seats wise is super. Although their vote numbers are insane. Look forward to seeing how the Tory/ Reform thing breaks down.

I'm a little fragile, but the amount I drunk over 8 hours, at my best/ worst I could do in two.

The Reform parents-in-law are already screaming about PR. First election they’ve ever lost. Funny that!

Reform getting 4 seats is still terrible. The fact that the exit poll said 13 is just exit polls being exit polls, it's still really bad that they took any seats at all.

They’ll lose them come the next election. Longevity has never been a feature of a Farage scam.
It doesn't necessarily need to be this incarnation of the far right that stays in the mix, however. They got those votes for a reason and we need to take those reasons seriously.

Add to Reform how the absolute worst Tories are still in the mix. People like Truss, Rees-Mogg, Mercer, Gullis...they are/were comedically bad. Look at some of the evil bastards who have survived. The Tories will need to pick a lane and I fear it'll be the Badenoch/Braverman lane.

WE don't. That's for Tories to deal with.

Neither of whom have any chance whatsoever of being elected as PM.

If they drift further to the right chasing Reform votes, they can write off the next election. They lost votes to all parties and they’ll not win them back that way. The majority of the electorate don’t want political extremes.
