UK General Election 2024 - Results Day

I thought for a moment there that the Sunak tweet was going to be a resignation.

Just let out a cheer at my hometown being listed as a probable Labour win. We're SO BACK.

Finchley (Thatchers old seat) going Con->Lib Dem is interesting. I think that's where Luciana Berger stood in 2019 after she defected (and lost).

The other high profile independent challenges look to be a wash though. Ilford North (Wes Streeting vs Leanne Mohammad) and Chingford and Woodford Green (Faiza Shaheen) both 99% for Labour.

Where can you get the percentages?

I kinda love Naga Munchetty...I wonder if she's got this role because she's on Breakfast in the morning...?

Honestly if this is correct the polls have really fucked up Scotland this election

So the rural/oil industry areas going Tory. They were all SNP-Tory head-to-heads.

The Tory vote may have held firm while SNP voters went elsewhere. There was a lot of opposition in those areas to the net-zero commitments made under the SNP/Green coalition so that may have hurt them, even though they were ditched earlier in the year.

I wish I wish I wish I could stay up all night for this.

I’ll probably just wake up intermittently, check this thread, roll over.

Baker is ACTIVELY INCOHERENT. It could not be more delicious.

They keep asking Steve Baker if he's going to run for leader of the Conservatives - can he do that if he loses his seat?

My grandparents seat in Barnsley is a likely Reform gain :(:eyes:
