Why would you wear sandals during a TWO WEEK FREEZE?

I've hauled about my boots and thick socks.

I am not wearing them. I don’t want to fall and get another black eye just before Christmas. 🤕

I never go on the top deck on a school route.
Is this a conscious thing because you're worried about abuse, or just because kids are idiots?

I just cannot understand why kids would even bother saying anything to grown ups. I find it so bizarre.

I'm a regular bus goer and always seem to be on it when the school kids are and generally they're very polite and I have no issues. But I wonder if that's because I'm female 🤔

There's not really many kids on my bus, but one little bastard is obsessed with the fact I vape. "Sir, which sick flavours are you chugging?" Because of that he thinks I'm really cool :side-eye: and interested in all his ungodly out of school activities (this is a common problem I have from several of the problematic teenage boys - I Iisten, dont share, give safety advice and then threaten them with a safeguarding report, which tends to shut them up)

He's probably very ADHD and it's just best avoided, for my own safety.

I can see why teenagers show an interest in you tho, in my day all the teachers were fat and old. I'd have loved a young, attractive teacher :(

While I don't especially rate myself as either, but I do scrub up well in my role. I get "I love you sir" shouted at me quite a lot. There's a girl and her sassy gay friend, who turn up to chat with me somewhere everywhere I go. It's nice, but also a lot.

Yeah quite possibly. I think I've led quite a sheltered life here as we generally don't get the same sort of....abuse/violence/crime as the mainland.
The Isle of Wight is the 24th most dangerous county in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The overall crime rate in the Isle of Wight in 2021 was 75 crimes per 1,000 people, and the most common crimes were violence and sexual offences, which happened to roughly every 39 out of 1,000 residents.

Out of all of the Isle of Wight's larger towns and cities, Newport is the most dangerous. The next most dangerous is Ryde, and Shanklin comes in as third most dangerous. There are safer parts of the Isle of Wight, starting with Cowes which ranks as the safest area in Isle of Wight, followed up by East Cowes in second place, and Shanklin in third place.

Ooh Cowes is where my shop is.

Honestly, I've never experienced or witnessed anything other than the odd drunken bar fight.

Someone was murdered (drug related) last year and that was a huge story for the island.

Maybe I just don't read the local news :D

Also, I regularly walk home on my own at night in Ryde. Mandy goes for runs at night on her own. I've never once felt unsafe 🤔

Show boots pls

I actually got literally fireman’s lifted through the streets by my handsome Mr Charming (I will only ever have one prince, who will always be my boy) but it was pretty much black ice. I don’t have the footwear to cope with this unless I am running through the hills with Tia.
