ADVICE PLEASE SLAGS

I ordered a new washing machine from the utterly useless Appliances Direct in early June which was subject to FOUR delays and eventually turned up faulty. It’s being collected tomorrow AT LAST and I’ve been informed that I need to package it so it’s in “pristine condition”. Naturally I’m violently resisting this as the original packaging was removed after delivery and WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO but am I right to expect the collection operatives to do it instead?

I’M NOT A LEO SO I DON’T MIND BEING WRONG :tongueout:

Not 100% the same but I had a moan at Flymo the other week as their lawnmower went to shit after about two uses and they arranged a Hermes to pick it up and return to Amazon (after I informed them that no, I wasn't able to wrap up a lawnmower and take it to my post office)

They required me to wrap it in bubble wrap and the Hermes guy picked it up no problem.

So presumably as long it's in state where the delivery men can take it, I think you should be fine!

I'd be raging at that as well tbh, unless they're going to provide the bubble wrap

‘In pristine condition’ does rather imply that they’re going to keep delivering it to people until they get one who’s too shy to complain.

I thought I might loosely tie some carrier bags and cling film round it for a laugh

LOOK! NICELY PACKAGED

Also, it came in polystyrene so using cardboard (which I briefly considered) would be ridiculous anyway. If it’s scratched on arrival, THEIR FAULT NOT MINE. I shall take pictures of its current state as evidence :)

Obviously they got the wrong customer here on the SHY front

FAULTY WANT REFUND NOW

They actually suggested that someone come round to repair it. ABSOLUTELY NOT

You could wrap it in Evening Standards and Metros that you find on the tube, but even then, EFFORT

I've had a nice day. Drove a grindr boy to work and he was lovely and relatively sane, then met up with a potential housemate though I'm not convinced it's a match, then had an impromptu date with a gigantic man from the navy and have made dinner plans for when he's next in town.

Now just need to force myself to go on a cycle.

Isn't it awful that we're PLEASANTLY SURPRISED when they're not sectionable and disgusting?

WHEN DID THE LATTER BECOME THE NORM
