Since the last update I have read (at least)

I don't read much NON-FICTION - my brother sent me this for Christmas last year- but I quite enjoyed this - I thought it was just going to be about POP but it's more about CULTURE in general

A lot of people seemed to think this was quite BORING but I STRONGLY DISAGREE

This was fine although after Christmas is possibly not the best time to read it. And my I've never seen such a large picture of our author. Yeah I get it you're cute and all, but really!

And it’s not even that good

Bob Mortimer's books are improved by about 200% if you listen to him read them rather than read them yourself.

I enjoyed The Long Shoe, although not as much as the first two.

a strange book, quite amusing in parts but the central premise definitely stretches credibility. the narrator, a failing writer (bien sûr!!), has spotted a reclusive writer at the swimming pool, who decades ago wrote two feminist novels and then disappeared. the main character is such an annoying weasel though. I'm sticking with it

In MY NEWS I've GOT OVER the nasty font and it's going quite well. I do like a good STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS. Hard to PULL OFF - always been slightly tempted to have a go myself but when EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER seems to have WRITTEN A NOVEL NO OFFENCE why BOTHER

Heap Earth Upon It by Chloe Michelle Howarth - thrilling and a lot better than Sunburn, which I did like

I'm currently reading The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali, which I'm enjoying, but I haven't yet decided whether it's more Kite Runner or more basic cheap TikTok book.

I need a new audiobook for the weekend.

It was good but I didn't enjoy it as much as OPEN, HEAVEN. Possibly a little CLOSE TO HOME

There are SO MANY Anne Tyler novels and they are all kind of the same and yet they're all JUST GREAT

Like it says on the front, Jon McGregor loved it. And if you love Jon McGregor, then you'll also enjoy this. I do and I did.

Trying to get myself as far out of my comfort zone as possible, I downloaded a bunch of books I wouldnt normally read recently.

This one was an absolute belter.

The main character annoys me because he thinks he the bee's knees now he's living in London.

I didnt like his last book (Isaac) as I didnt like the main character for similar reasons.

I went to David Sedaris reading last year and I remember him recommending Flesh, I'll try a sample once I'm done with my last Rachel Reid book (Time to Shine). After 8 hockey romance novels I don't know if I have it in me to transition back to something more high brow (or that doesn't have any face clothes or the words "release" or "slit" in it).
