What Are You Watching? 2025

The Assassin with 'ex headhunter' Keeley Hawes on Amazon. Enjoyable, and only six episodes.
 
Unforgivable on BBC1...some quite dark stuff. Dame Anna Friel BACK I see taking what could have been a Sheridan Smith lead.
 
Anyone watched Destination X with Rob Brydon? Worth catching up on? I have read mixed reviews.

Anna Friel was great but I thought that Bobby lad absolutely nailed it. I've never seen him before but he was brilliant in those scenes with Anna Maxwell. I felt for him afterwards if i'm honest. I know it is wrong but this drama definitely made you question why this happens
 
I’ve started Pachinko on Apple TV which I’d never heard of but is very promising so far. It covers two timelines showing the lives of a Korean family during the Japanese occupation and later their life in Japan in the 80s. Beautiful cinematography and soundtrack.
 
I've seen very good things about Pachinko. It is on the list to watch on Apple. I've just finished the high calorie romp that is Carême. No news on a second season yet but I hope it comes back.

Smoke finished this week with an eventful final episode. Very enjoyable and Taron Egerton has some wild moments.

The Narrow Road to the Deep North was excellent but almost relentlessly bleak, unsurprisingly considering the subject matter.
 
Whilst I'm currently watching the freshly aired 6th episode of Celebs Go Dating series 14, thanks to an Instagram (and occasionally real life) crush I've just discovered a show I could possibly love called Shōgun (2024-present).
 
I've just discovered Stath Sells Flats on C4 and whilst very silly is making me chuckle with the Greek/Cypriot stereotype comedy he's very clever
 
I must say, I've no interest in the guy (or knew that he had much of a profile outside of Love Island), but I see the BBC has a whole series of Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury. I'll be watching at some point, but if anyone who has got there first can report on the eye candy factor that'd be great.

Back to Celebs Go Dating..
 
I am on Celebs Go Dating too, started the first few episodes, and will also start The Flight with Katherine Kelly tomorrow...
 
Finished In Flight, which was enjoyable silliness though it was probably too long. Kat Kelly's cabin crew make up job was quite evil looking.

Now started on Hostage on Netflix with Julie Delphy and Queen Suranne. Annoying teenage offspring - check.
 
They certainly got through a lot of wild plot in the five episodes of Hostage.

Very excited that all episodes of King & Conqueror are up on iPlayer. Looking forward to some hot succession scheming.
 
I feel a short Apple subscription coming on again for Down Cemetery Road.

And The Iris Affair sounds like a must watch as well.
 
Finished ‘Bookish’ finally. Very Sunday evening cosy crime but with lavender undertones. Will watch the second series at any rate.
 
Started In Flight last night, watchable in a far fetched kind of way and yes Katherine Kelly looks almost drag like

I just watched the first episode and some CHOICES have been made. Renaming the ACTUAL QUEEN OF ENGLAND for one, inventing an entire Prince (?) for another.
 
I'm quite entertained by it (more than most of the reviewers seem to have been) but yes they have embraced creative license.

Hoping the creative license extends to hot Harold and mustachioed William having a STEAMY SWORD FIGHT.
 
Just watched the Catfish thing on Netflix (purely as I was FOMO in work)

It was alright, but at least I can join in tomorrow (when everyone has now moved on to other things)
 
The Girlfriend on Amazon. More rich people, unusual family relationships and women at war. Two episodes in and it is very good too.

However the now obligatory outdoors dancing scene is quite small scale it must be said.
 
Not quite sure why we left it so long, but just watching the second series of Vigil. I seem to recall it wasn't nearly as well received as the first, but I'm 4 episodes in and enjoying it immensely.

I watched this last night and feel like it left me with more questions than answers :confused:

It was successful at taking me by surprise though, as I didn't expect the person behind it all would actually be involved in the documentary
