That's pretty massive. Only took up the Lloyds bank account because it came with free Disney+ but I can move that now. Wondering why I'm paying £40 for Sky now though :D

That’s a 24 quid add on though right?

So you’re saving money overall but it’ll still be about 35 quid for NowTV and about 60 quid for Sky, before you even get to movies and sports.

Great if you watch all those platforms but otherwise you’re just getting cheaper carrots that come with your potatoes that you didn’t need in the first place.

If they swapped out Hayu for Apple then we might have a deal. Although I get Apple for free anyway.

No it’s not an add-on. It’s included in one price

For the first time, new customers will be able to get Sky, HBO Max, Disney+, Hayu and Netflix together as part of Sky Ultimate TV from £24 a month

They might charge £24 for new customers but can't see them being so generous to existing customers even after a haggle. They also whack on not insignificant charges for HD on their Sky packages.
 
It's probably a loss lead for them to avoid mass cord-cutting. Pinning all their hopes on making their dosh from movies and sports. If you've got 4 premium TV services, half of which offer thousands of movies, do you really need Sky Movies anymore?

I don't blame Sky for doing it, it's smart, but they're just delaying their doom. I imagine a future where they're just a Live Sport / PPV platform - very full circle.
 
I’d have probably gone had they not had this HBO Max deal but damn they have the best GUI out of all of them.

I’d say are they’re already full circle. Instead of aggregating channels they’re aggregating streaming services (largely from the same people who owned those channels)
 
Well this is fucking horrible, and somewhat predictable and inevitable. The Netflix deal wasn't ideal, but WB going to Paramount is even worse.

He had already started to turn Paramount's CBS News, previously a mildly left-leaning news channel, into a diet Fox News.

I swear, there is something way bigger happening in the world with this right wing cabal of billionaires.
 
For all the noise about HBO Max UK, at first glance the basic package looks like The Pitt, a lot of stuff that has been shown on Sky over the years, some foreign language shows, Friends and Harry bloody Potter.

I guess as new shows launch without existing deals it may begin to look a bit more interesting.
 
NowTV, clearly shitting it about the decimation of their subscriber base, have hooked me in with their £2.99-a-month for a year offer, because it includes all of HBO Max. As well as my new favourite TV show SNL UK

You need to pay for the fucking boost subscription to get it without ads, but I'm happy to do that for the odd month of concentrated viewing. I guess longterm they won't be able to offer all their programming and all of HBO Max for half the price of HBO Max (who I'm sure will withdraw from Sky/Now at some point too) but for the time being Sky/Now are doing a good job of not dying quietly.

So nothing then. I’d quite like to see The Comeback. Hacks maybe one day but not a priority. The rest is either old (already own SATC and Curb) or rubbish.
 
Thought it was a bit funny for all the hype about The Pitt the main billing in the app was for the Harry Potter series trailer
 
I binged 20 years of Grey’s Anatomy in less than 2 years and only just watched my first episode of House MD on Netflix last night. I might start on The Pitt in 2042.

Hacks doesn't seem to be on there for me. I guess maybe Sky have an exclusive deal or something. No sign of Deadwood the series either, just the movie.

I mean, I've seen both, so it doesn't really matter to me but it isn't as complete at the moment as I thought.

Also being on the basic, included with Sky plan, and seeing 'unavailable with your current plan' and 'get access' all over the films on the homepage is a bit annoying. I can't see anything obvious in settings to filter them out.
