When are you switching your heating on?

Still no hearing for us at home. Just a thick dressing gown today.

We also don't have out electric blanket on yet which is unheard of. And we've not needed the hot water bottles.

I imagine that'll change soon but I think we may upgrade to a thicker duvet first. 4 tog is a bit thin.
I woke up in the night and was too hot. And we don't have the warmest duvet on yet either, but I will probably change them when I do the bedding at the weekend.

Yeah I've been really warm in the night the last few days!

But other than at night, which I understand with a good duvet you don't need anything else, isn't your house freezing cold during the day? It is here and we have around 20ºC during the day.

It's currently about 15 degrees outside, our flat is about 18 degrees. It's a bit chilly but nothing a dressing gown won't fix

Good for you. Maybe it's because it's very cloudy here, I didn't see much sun for the last 48 hours, that never happens.

Our flat is south facing so when the sun is shining it can get crazy hot, even if it's 10 degrees outside.

We also have double glazing and wall insulation which I guess helps.

Where abouts are you?

I'm still too warm for heating. I still have to have a little fan on at work because I can't bear it too hot.

I turned it on a while back to dry a shirt but it's just been the once.

Are we actually going to get 3 hour blackouts or is that paper talk?

Is it likely to happen? I better get stocked up on yankees as my Diptyque’s aren’t getting wasted on this SHIT.

No, the UK.

I don’t know if it’s true, and none of the brains of this establishment are very forthcoming with info for us Rachey. :(
I've read a lot about it so I think it's a strong possibility.

The other day I read that the UK only had 9 days of gas left as well :o

Weren't the blackouts meant to be worst, most unlikely case?

I did buy a few candles yesterday (definitely not Diptyque) but blackouts were not really on my mind.

It does feel a bit chillier this evening than the last couple of weeks though. Still resisting the heating going on but time for the winter duvet this weekend I think.

Yes, I've been cold ever since I got in from work, but I think largely because I got so windswept and damp on the way home.

I am tempted by those massively oversized fleecy hoodies that seem to be everywhere now.

I was tempted by one of them but then couldn't see what the benefit would be compared to a dressing gown 🤔

I guess just not being open fronted, or fastened and tight at the front?

I want one with a big pocket because I know one of the cats will sleep in it.

I bought an overhead Oodie but got my mum a zip up one from Amazon which would probably suit me better.

I know Primark do cheaper versions but they're probably not as warm. Actual Oodies are expensive.

Heathcliff will definitely sleep on it!

I think I want an overhead one. And it was Oodies I was looking at, but am not sure they are worth the extra compared to Next etc. Are they particularly plush and luxurious?
