or perhaps because your business is intertwined with this World Cup and you're out there enjoying it in person, you see it as a wonderful thing that's happening to you/around you and it's therefore more difficult for you to be objective about it and accept any criticism of it?

because the way you're dismissing every argument as nonsense or conspiracy theory and suggesting you have more insight than most (although you also are not embedded in FIFA as far as I'm aware?) suggests so.

I don’t think that’s fair in the slightest.

I have NEVER said there is no corruption. I don’t have any life. I have even said I don’t agree with a lot of the decisions and that has fuck all to do with what I’m enjoying and what I do for a living. What I am saying is the furore and hysteria around every decision being met with “FIFA ARE CORRUPT” is absolute bollocks and fed by a social media need to find them as the enemies of the piece.
 
And also, as for defending everything, I wasn’t even involved in this one, until YOU @Jark decided you wanted to CLACK OFF.

I picked up where you left off the other day when I didn't have time to respond to what you'd said. I do think it's an interesting discussion to be having and to be clear I'm not saying this World Cup is a bust or anything. any World Cup will always have its moments. but a lot of the circumstances around it, and the last one, are grubby and should be called out. i think we can discuss without getting too emotional. personally I'm just not here for this appraisal of FIFA as some kindly body that just wants the best for the game. that's a little delulu.
 
I mean they held the last 2 World Cups in Qatar and Russia and they recently gave a peace prize to the orange turd, but of course this must all be VERY SECRET INFORMATION if I had to use my INSIDE LINE in order to come to the conclusion that they’re absolutely corrupt!

I was being sarcastic at Jark, it was just that you were the person above so easiest to use to make my point. No one is claiming you have anything to do with FIFA, dear. That wasn’t the point.

I mean... did I COME FOR YOU? are we that sensitive? I mentioned with tongue in cheek that you'd said FIFA are not blatantly corrupt, which you did. I implied I found that absurd because I do. I don't give a fuck if I "have support". this is moopy. you're overthinking. but it's clear you're very emotional about this topic so let's all move on.

If FIFA had just said ‘we’ve looked at the video and decided that both the referee and the VAR official were on crack, so we’ve overturned the red card’ that would have been fine. They’ve left the red card in place, but changed the rules on whether it should result in a suspension for absolutely no reason other than that he’s the USA’s superstar. I’d be very surprised indeed if money changed hands at any level. It’s rather more likely that Trump called his good friend Gianni and Gianni called the panel, but even that doesn’t really matter. The whole thing leaves me in serious doubt that if a superstar like Mbappe, Messi or Kane somehow picks up a ban then it will actually be applied, whilst Johnny Dickhead has to serve his ban like a normal person. That really should be indefensible.
