XMAS + Christmas (Fully Wrapped Edition) - XMAS #1!

I don't see why a 4 song set at Jingle Ball would stop her from her own concerts!

I was thinking that. By this point, wouldn't it make sense to have announced thr single, album and any live dates together?

Announce them together and pre-orders for the records suffer.

Its OK Guys she's announcing The Croydon FAIRFIELD HALLS tomorrow morning. Word on the street is they may close off the upper seating to avoid embarrassment and go for a more intimate gig. 'It works for Gabrielle' Kylie was overheard saying.

Does anyone else find it strange how this song and album are getting such a strong push? I guess I'm just annoyed at how lightweight it is - but it also seems at odds with what she achieved with Tension.

I mean it's a re-release of an old Parlophone album at the end of the day.

I mean it makes sense. Was it Tom Grennan and Sam Ryder the past few years with the Amazon exclusive songs? And they got big hits out of them thanks to Alexa. So she has a solid chance or a big chart hit on her hands, to give it all a big push seems logical.

I find it strange that Eddie finds it strange how this song and album are getting such a strong push

It's (nice, different) unusual rather than strange, isn't it? It makes sense from Parlophone's perspective considering the impact Amazon hammering the single could have.

Just realised Kylie Christmas was released by Darenote and merely licensed to Parlophone. In which case, yes I suppose it makes a lot more sense financially for Kylie.

Still think the song sucks though.

I find it difficult to get excited about how well it is or isn't doing, because it means nothing except a reflection how much amazon is pushing it. And they won't be bothered yet.

Yeah I imagine once December rolls around and people use Alexa it will make an impact.

It did ask me to pre-save on Spotify before for the album. I’m not up with tech but I assume the new album version on there won’t have the single as it’s an exclusive??

Even though I am not too keen on the song (yet?) I am looking forward to seeing how it does, the Strictly performance, and if it does gain traction with any radio play in addition to the expecting Amazon pushing. If she hadn't had a hit since 1990 i'd be a bit sceptical but I quite like she is in the position in her career to do something like this, as a passion/interim project, before whatevers next :disco:

Xmas is kind of growing on me, once I got over the basic chorus

Each Xmas dance does not equal a stream, unfortunately.

Kylie's Santa Baby has been a department store and 7-Eleven muzak staple in the States for years, decades even. Let's not forget the U.S. got this performance well over 20 years ago:

the two back-up "dancers" in those rubbish proto-Sia wigs :D who signed off on that?
