I’m sorry but the only fairly recent* Shakira song that matters is RABIOSA. :disco:

*might have been from ten years ago, but it feels like the other day.

I didn’t actually realise Shakira was still making albums in any language. I thought she was on a break having kids so must investigate her newer stuff.

J-Lo needs to bring out Ja Rule, Ashanti, Christina Milian and the whole Murder Inc family to share some more truths.

TBH I found Shakira's English material fairly lacklustre since She Wolf. Empire was really good and should've been bigger, but that duet with Rihanna was utterly flaccid.

Here for any Spanish recommendations though. I listened to Chantaje, but that reggaeton sound doesn't really do a lot for me.
ALL of her material post Sale El Sol has been shit, Empire aside. She's completely lost interest in being an artist which is a major shame because she was an excellent one.

JLo
01. If You Had My Love
02. Waiting for Tonight
03. Ain’t It Funny (original mix)
04. Let’s Get Loud
05. I’m Gonna Be Alright (the remix)

Shakira
01. Objection
02. Eyes Like Yours
03. Rabiosa
04. La Tortura
05. Beautiful Liar

God empire is AMAZE

Peak Shakira:

And of course her breakthrough hit which I can't listen to without getting homesick :(

I do think that one of her strengths is the BATSHIT RAW LYRICS which I kind of think are lost in translation when she sings in English.

Shakira's English lyrics can border on gobbledygook, but that's half the fun really.

For years I misheard the lyric from Eyes Like Yours as "Came from behind, got to be rude" and assumed it was all about dirty Shaky liking it up the rear.

I only know the three most basic Shakira songs so I'm more than ready for an EDUCATION

Whoever said they should expand this into a full show and tour the world with it is really on to something.

So are they performing together or doing two separate back to back shows as the only sole performer?

Oh my, how have I never seen the video for "Papi" before? She really is a gay man at heart.

Anyway, I would hope Shakira includes at least one 90s gem in lieu of her modern garbage.

I think Shakira will snatch the attention here SORRY J LO queens.

Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don’t Lie are such universal massive crowd pleasers, Jennifer doesn’t have anything on QUITE the same scale.

Here’s hoping she decides to dust off Dance Again to give it ONE LAST CRACK at the Billboard top 10 :disco:

Both should unleash a PROPER old school Greatest Hits off the back of this too - Kylie has shown that they CAN WORK.

We don’t talk about the hot mess that was the last time Jennifer tried to compile her hits (and excluded QUITE A LOT OF THEM :D)

God a quick glance at J Lo’s Spotify reveals for every semi-hit she’s managed recently there’s about 5 flops floundering about :D

What on earth are ‘Goin In’, ‘I Luh Ya Papi’, ‘Us’, ‘Medicine’ etc etc et

Love Don’t Cost a Thing, and On the Floor disagree with you.

‘I Luh Ya Papi’ is great. If you’re draped over the front of a yacht soaking up the sun.

Love Don’t Cost a Thing, and On the Floor disagree with you.

Both in-arguably MASSIVE MASSIVE hits, but Whenever Wherever and Hips Don't Lie are both genuinely defining songs of whatever decade they were released in.

I’d also say that On The Floor hasn’t had much of a life post-release. It feels very of it’s time.

Waka Waka also.

They both have ample hits for this. Both could do it solo. Outside of Latin America JLo is the bigger star by far, inside it's Shaki, so basically a global weave massacre is guaranteed to occur.

I think it all goes on ones perception really. I haven’t heard Whenever Wherever in YEARS and as great as it was I would also say it is very much of its time. I can’t argue with Hips Don’t Lie though. That is EVERYTHING.

I have no knowledge of that song whatsoever. I can certainly see why it WASN’T a hit.

My favourite Shakira song is Pure Intuition:

I don't even know where and when it's from.

Given that those 3 cover approximately 99% of her vocals, she's ALREADY bringing them out.

Can't wait to see Shakira though. I'm guessing she'll sing the other 1%.
