Are we going in to LOCKDOWN? I’m sure I just heard he said to steer clear of pubs/restaurants etc even if we have no symptoms?
His words aren't especially clear. It sounds like advice rather than law changes.

my friend, who is studying in London, just got a mail from the administration which said that per instructions from the authorities, students who have had contact with the virus or suspected illness should just carry on as usual :)

KEEP CALM AND GET FUCKED

Well the official government advice now is for everyone in the UK to avoid all non-essential social contact and avoid bars, pubs, etc.

I think that's pretty clear.

The over 70s + others at risk are effectively in lockdown.

Until the enforcement of these rules go in to place people are still going to frequent them...

Quite. We're an unruly bunch at times. Confirmed that it won't be enforced.

To me it sounded like he was putting the onus on the venues themselves to close rather than him enforce closures.

It's quite nice to seem him taking something seriously. I don't think I once saw him being sincere from the Brexit began to the moment it ended.

i'm having a tequila.

almost out of my last this bottle though.
oh, the humanity.

i guess everyone has their toilet paper.

in coronavirus news: today is already the third day with the most new cases and it might just overtake (the previous one was three days ago, on the 13th).
new york is approaching a thousand reported and between sunday brunch and trump, i wouldn't be surprised if things escalate even faster.

The advice is all very sensible advice, but I can’t help thinking that things do need to be enforced rather than suggested.

Well I’ve went home to work for the time being. We’ll see how it goes.

They announced that all non Canadians will not be permitted to enter and closed most airports. Also advised everyone to stay home.

Oh apparently Americans are allowed. The press are chewing him over it.
