my friend, who is studying in London, just got a mail from the administration which said that per instructions from the authorities, students who have had contact with the virus or suspected illness should just carry on as usual

Well the official government advice now is for everyone in the UK to avoid all non-essential social contact and avoid bars, pubs, etc.

I think that's pretty clear.

The over 70s + others at risk are effectively in lockdown.

new york is approaching a thousand reported and between sunday brunch and trump, i wouldn't be surprised if things escalate even faster.

They announced that all non Canadians will not be permitted to enter and closed most airports. Also advised everyone to stay home.
