My mate whose been left in charge of dozens of army kids, has just been told they're qualifying her as a teacher without completing the year. So we're getting CUNTED.

They might be trying to stop regional panic, keep the figures as figures without focusing on areas.
 
There's talk here that most schools districts will keep schools closed until the end of the school year! Heavens.
 
Takeaways remain open however. That's something and actually a glimmer of light that it won't all be bad.
 
At fucking last. Now these businesses can claim on their insurance to at least partially cover their losses.

No measures to force us to stay at home, so not lockdown I guess.

Cafes, bars, pubs, restaurants, night clubs, theatres, gyms, cinemas and leisure centures to close. Not seen any mention of shops. But I'm not watching the actual thing...
 
Went out and bought a load of running stuff.

Who knows if solo running will be alright next week but oh well.

I need to see the actual details as it was a lot of info at once, but the 30% rent support sounded a BIT SHIT

What about people that have already lost their jobs - we could have done with this new scheme at least FIVE DAYS AGO, hopefully many workplaces will now retrospectively rehire people on retainer?
 
They're saying they expect social distancing to be in place 'most of a year'. So I don't see anything reopening for a LONG time. FUCK.
 
I think we will be lucky if schools are open in August/September, and Universities will probably be fully online all of the Autumn 2020 term. As for the service industry, I think we can pretty much kiss it goodbye.

I hope so too but it's typical of the appalling mishandling of the situation by Johnson. You're right - this should have been done on Monday.
 
I'm thinking of deferring my last term of my Master's. This is just too much!
 
I also note that business interruption loans will be interest free until December. It has never occurred to me that they wouldn't be interest free full stop. We've got an unprecedented global emergency and our government are looking to make money out of it.
 
Can someone just confirm something for me please. The government are saying they can pay employees 80% of their wages if their company is forced to close. Is that any company? Just as long as you pay your tax? So potentially I would be ok if we are forced to close?
 
Our office building is officially closed. We’re to work from home for now.
 
I am pleased all social establishments are now closed. I don’t want these places to be closed, but it had to happen. Hopefully he doesn’t need to take any further steps now.
 
Reports of everyone immediately heading to their nearest Spoons to binge drink until they get forcibly removed. Delightful scenes.

We were told the same today, the university has decided to close multiple buildings from today including mine. It's so strange, as a print room there's not much we can really DO from home aside from answering emails.
