I've been using a very large park, about 5 mins away. There's a 30 mins path around it.Thankfully despite its size its rather underused and despite the increase in joggers it's quite EASY to social distance.
 
I have also enjoyed BIRD SONG which is normally absent round these parts, thanks to the absence of cars.
 
I always run along the river so I look forward to seeing how busy that is when I get back to it :zombie:
 
Made a DARING venture to the corner shop for some essential supplies (beer, chocolate). One lad was constantly to-ing and fro-ing stacking the shelves and making no effort to social distance so I kept having to rapidly about-turn and dive into an aisle with my back turned in the hopes of staying safe. There was a roadworks barrier at the checkout to force people to stay at a couple of arms length. Meanwhile outside was EERIE, no traffic at all, near silence, just a few people pottering in their gardens.

Hoping I didn't go to too much risk of bringing anything home other than supplies. Worst time to be a casual alcoholic. Gave everything a wipe down with about 90% alcohol (of the non drinking variety) afterwards though...

The talk of young people dying from it is grim.
Hopefully an optimistic side to things, would be the massive ramping up of testing kits. Just praying that there aren't mutations or false negatives etc.

My sister's partner does a lot of work internationally, including with Chinese companies so he's been well ahead of developments and they've been taking all due precautions for months i.e. avoiding the pubs, social distancing etc. She lives up in Umea.

I am assuming our figures still have not been updated for today? 187 new confirmed cases, and 13 deaths? If that is the full figure it’s a MASSIVE drop from yesterday.
 
i'm still struggling to do yoga by myself but daily i do a few reps of lazy push-ups, i'm working on improving my handstand push-ups and i stretch my legs.

the tension in my neck and shoulders, however, is insane.
 
I nicked a resistance band from work to do some exercise at home. looks kooky but it works for me

Now up to 1427 new confirmed cases for today. The highest daily figure to date.
 
I’ve been doing a fair amount of weights at home, which has been great.

You do realise that the number of actual cases is much (and I mean much) higher, right?

My point is : don't place too much importance on the daily 'new' cases for now.

Yes, I know the new daily cases figure is highly flawed. I was more wondering why the reported cases was so low today, but they had not been announced.

I dont think they've actually announced the new English cases yet, so the count is just Wales/NI/Scotland at the moment.

That's not what I meant.

My point is that the 'new' daily cases and the total number of UK cases are not representative of the actual numbers, which are likely to be significantly higher because we haven't been widely testing in this country.

That may change as of next week when (reportedly) more tests will be rolled out.

The daily number of deaths is a more meaningful figure at this point.

I know exactly what you meant.

I was following on from your chain of conversation from Rita. The official numbers (however underreported they are) hadn't fully been released yet. Now they have. Hooray.
 
Scares me that I keep hearing about locals dying from it. Inevitable I know, but as always "it truly feels real when it's on the doorstep"
 
At Iceland today my mother was told by staff that 2 of their lorries were set on fire down South and they've taken alcohol off the shelves. In the town I went to get errands so many places have opted to put wood over their windows during their closure.
 
Love that they're proving Her Maj is not only still alive, but pranking Boris, with a phone from 1974.

 
As much as things are horrific in Italy, spare a thought for San Marino. 1 in 1600 people have now DIED from it there. It might be a small country, but those figures are terrible. :(

they are now aiming to test 5,000 per day here instead of only 1,000

I dread going back to the city but I miss my Playstation :evil:

There will be a hard line between the two places in the event of failure of not only mobile networks but the national phone infrastructure. Like the big red phone camp 70s Batman had.
