*yawns, stretches*

Morning. 2 nights of late night drunk Moopy in a row is quite tough on the ol' system as it turns out.

I'm wrecked. Two nights of Soldivision plus drunk zoom on Friday. On day 2 of a 2 day recovery now.

I saw my family yesterday for a lovely weather barbecue which was really lovely. We didn't really care we were all in winter coats huddled under different of parasols. It was just nice to physically see people and be in a different place.

I’ve been awake since 7 feeling dog rough and trying but failing to sleep it off. Going to give up shortly and drag myself to the off licence for a lucozade and pack of paracetamol.

:( It's been ten months since I had crumpets. As they were one of Mr F's favourite weekend dinner (lunch for savners) items it would be particularly cruel and unusual torture for me to have them when he can't. See also dirty doner kebabs and Pound Bakery pasties (currently still closed). I was craving a doner the other night and considered making an excuse to leave the house, getting myself doner meat on garlic bread and eating it in the car on the carpark opposite the kebab shop. Obviously though the smell of garlic would have been something I couldn't excuse when I returned home so I decided against it. I even put up a FB post lamenting them in the hope Mr F would see it and text me from upstairs to say go and get one, but he didn't.

I had a jumbo crumpet for breakfast yesterday. Wish I'd known Floppet, I'd have thought of you as i was smothering it with butter.

I tried to make crumpets with sourdough starter a few weeks ago. Dreadful

Is there anything worse than a PROSECCO hangover? I wouldn’t usually touch the poison but Aperol was on offer on Tesco and those spritzs go down like fucking water.

When I used to have crumpets I'd use butter straight from the fridge and just cut it into slices to put on top of each crumpet so it melted through. I'd get through half a block of butter for six crumpets. It's no wonder weight started dropping off me once I stopped doing that :D

Never a fan of the giant crumpets though, too much middle and not enough edge.

The worst hangover I ever had was from Tequila. Seriously thought I was going to die on my bathroom floor and I haven't touched the stuff since.

Tequila barely touches me. Or at least I can drink the equivalent in other drinks and feel a fuckload worse.

I don’t think I’ve encountered a bread/dough/batter item that I haven't loved.

Yeah good tequila never gives me any BOTHER, although I imagine Jose Cuervo would justifiably make you feel like death.

I'll take a pancake over a crumpet. Crumpets have too many holes.

It was Cuervo Gold. I did almost two bottles of it that night in tequila coladas that were just getting more tequila and less mixer each time.

Downing a bottle of Pinot Grigio after midnight really was a bad idea. I feel terrible and extremely irritable.

I do like crumpets, but the main story here is Pound Bakery. I'm actually salivating at the thought of two spicy chicken slices for a quid; the one near me can't open soon enough.

I only had four rum & cokes last night and woke up as FRESH as a DAISY this morning, and managed to do a WORKOUT for the first time in a few days.

I live for their shortcrust savories and vanilla slices but might try the spicy chicken slices one day.

Pound Bakery > Greggs > Carrs > Greenhalghs but Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe pasty barm beats them all hands down

do crumpets actually taste of anything or are they just an excuse to eat butter? (which is as legitimate a reason as they come by the way)

They taste crumpetty. It's kind of bready but not bready but I'm unable to describe further because it's such a unique taste.
