ASFM: A Beryl-ation: The Final Act

Is there a list of the positions of all the players ended up? That's all I'm interested in.

Morning all, I got a message on Instagram from Soldi seeing if I was okay after not logging back on, so I thought I’d better check-in. I didn’t mean to cut and run (well, I did) but I came back to Manchester on Saturday after two weeks away so was just spending time with my boyfriend and then focusing on the actual work I should’ve been doing whilst hosting this.

Speaking of… hosting wasn’t an enjoyable experience, at times it was just plain unpleasant, mostly because of a minority that seemed determined to make it so. There’s plenty I could say but I’ve spent enough hours entertaining Moopy.

I’m sorry you didn’t like it, it was never my intention to offend or upset anyone with the twists, I just wanted to create something fun and do things a little differently.

Anyway, if anyone still cares here is the full voting breakdown:

Oh dear, people actually were unpleasant about an Internet forum game that someone took time to run? I’m sorry that was the case. Although I didn’t read all the related threads and posts in depth I appreciate you taking the time!

Oh I’m sorry you had such a negative experience Beryl. We can be a bunch of entitled cunts at times. For what it’s worth I enjoyed it and think you did a great job, hosting as well as the creativity to make it a bit different. It really gave me the opportunity to be vindictive so I had a lot a fun.

At the end of the day, I think it is important to try new things and play with the forumla. That always will run the risk of not working, at least for some of the audience.

I think this is better than just doing exactly the same thing each month, and no one should be treated harshly for trying.

Beryl it was lovely to liven the format up a bit, and I enjoy each poster bringing in their own ideas when hosting. I did feel there was perhaps the odd questionable choice, but then it was your contest (and I definitely made a couple of odd choices when hosting myself!) and I wouldn’t want to distract from the proceedings and all the hard work you put in (and I think until you’ve hosted yourself it’s hard to recognise how tough it can be!)

Ha, I was next in line for the CHOP.

(if it had happened I'd have sent dog shit in a box to those who voted, not Beryl for doing the twist)

I was wondering why Star was asking for addresses. Very obviously selling them for £50 each to bitter and disgruntled ASFM flops

Love you @Beryl. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us and I personally enjoyed every last second but am sad to hear the experience wasn’t great for you. You brought your own BERYLISMS to this to make it an experience we will never forget. Good for you for sticking your neck out and daring not to follow the same old format as everyone else.

JOB WELL DONE.

Thanks all, this wasn’t a post aiming to generate praise and gushing thanks. I just found the whole thing quite unenjoyable after the first premiere with the chopping announcement and as much as I tried to weather the storm it created and ride it out, it wasnt nice. But I accept that was the beast I created, I perhaps hadn’t anticipated how severe a reaction it would cause.

And whilst I hadn’t consciously decided I wasn’t coming back on, I was in no rush to because it wasn’t fun, and ultimately that’s what I come on for, light relief, escapism.

I fully accept the chops were seen by some as going against the spirit of the game, and maybe it was a shit twist, but I had hoped the jury element keeping those who went out still involved would be a fun twist and add a new element.

Letting the jury have a personal vote was again with the intention that their juror vote would be more objective and most were. Sorry it wasn’t clear to all jury they had a personal vote too.

I dunno, I guess it just backfired but lesson learnt, I won’t be doing it again.

NOT CLOSE ENOUGH :disco:

Green REALLY is not your colour, Bev.

@Kate will be getting a particularly VIOLENT turd in the post, although no doubt it’ll be left with her poor concierge for 5 days because MADAME can’t be arsed to brush her hair.

I DO hope you two are playing the Christmas one

Oh dear. :( I wasn’t thrilled about some of the twists at first but it did keep things fresh. I think you did an amazing job with running it and I genuinely mean it. I was on the edge of my seat during the entire results show. People here including me can get a bit emotional at times when they have their loved song in the game but at the end of the day it IS just a game.

As much as it can be frustrating at times thanks to some moopsies with no taste ASFM is still my favorite thing about Moopy right now and hopefully this doesn’t discourage others from hosting it in the future.
