More importantly, I haven’t got a VEGETARIAN TURKEY LOAF in yet.
I know it sounds silly, but I can’t stop crying. The last two years, I’ve spent Christmas on my own being a junkie, basically. Sort my life out and all I wanted was a nice Christmas. Sounds so superficial when it’s just another day really. But it hurts.
Aawwwwww thank you :emoji_heart:I am so sorry about this, but it is just another day. You will have other christmases and you will feel that love again. I wish I could offer to come and get you and bring you here, because believe me, right now, that’s all I want to do after reading that post. Hang in there.
(As long as you don’t talk to me in capital letters all day, that is...)
We should plan an online Christmas party you know. Maybe Boxing Day or something. Something to break up the routine for those who are stuck or alone over Christmas.
A bit like moopy day where we organise loads of things over a few hours and all try to be online.
I think so, but perhaps discouraged if it’s not local.Am I right in thinking that travel from Tier 3 to Tier 2 is still permissible?
When I saw my parents back In October I was resigned to the fact I wouldn’t be seeing them for Christmas and was just about okay with that as knew was for the best. All this getting my hopes up since just to have it removed again is what hurts.I get what he's saying, the attack has changed so our defence must too. But they never should have dangled the carrot on the first place, that's the upsetting thing![]()
Level 4 from Boxing Day? Fuck.
That's retail fucked. Absolutely fucked.

Here’s GOV.UK’s Tier 4 guidance:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home
Still no sign of revised Christmas guidance.
Can’t believe how many people in this thread are saying “yeah, well, we’ll still go carry on- Mum has made me an excuse/ Mum has got too much food in/ Brighton is nice for a weekend”.
THIS IS EXACTLY THE FUCKING PROBLEM!
God, I think I need to back away from the internet. I’m incensed.
How is that any different from passing strangers in the park or on the street? So if we were standing in my front driveway for like 10 mins, socially distanced from my parents, while the kids opened presents, is that allowed?? Does that count as meeting outdoors??
It needs to be a public space. Kids need to be under 5. And only one parent, not two.So if we were standing in my front driveway for like 10 mins, socially distanced from my parents, while the kids opened presents, is that allowed?? Does that count as meeting outdoors??
What a load of shitIt needs to be a public space. Kids need to be under 5. And only one parent, not two.

I'm so sorry to all of you affected. I know Christmas has been the last beacon of hope to many and it's crushing. It’s not just one day though, is it? Some people haven’t seen their family or friends for months and months.
And I did go by the original rules on household mixing, which is why I decided not to spend it with my family. But moving the goal posts literally a few days before people we’re about to spend it with friends or family is shit. And it does mean that some people are now going to be all alone.
I feel so sorry for all the tier 4 people, reading @MARY 's posts is so sad.
I just hope we get some sort of normality back soon, for everyones sake.
I don't think I've ever been so grateful to live on the Isle of Wight as I am right now![]()
So am I! But for some reason (I assume money), the ferry companies haven't been checking anyone coming over. Since the 2nd lockdown ended we've had coach loads of old people coming over from all over the country, yet somehow our cases have remained low.I’m amazed you haven’t basically made it essential entry only.
Which is fucking shit. And some people have had that ALL FUCKING YEAR, basically.
I am not blaming anyone other than the government, but not agreeing with how they’ve handled it does not make it ok to ignore the fact that. The facts are simple: Stay the fuck home to save people’s lives and stop the NHS breaking now we are at breaking point. Why does it being Christmas make that so impossible to understand?

Oh god, a FB friend has posted this, I'm biting my tongue;
All the londoners bitching about being forced to do sod all for Christmas. I haven't been able to do anything for most of the year because I live up north.oh yeah, except go out and work in a factory with 200 hundred other people. Thank god corona virus knows I am at work. Ohhhh my heart goes out to the soft southerners. Suck it up buttercup. We have had months of it.
