TBF I remember him and the other man judge really wanting Jessie to win over the people's princess Jodie Prenger, so he's been bigging her up from the start.

ALW and Cameron Mackintosh were definitely wet for Jessie, whereas Denise Van Outen and John Barrowman very much preferred Jodie, as I recall. Barry Humphries was also a judge but I'd totally forgotten him.

It must be one of the most successful TV talent shows in terms of finding talent though. I only discovered yesterday that Amy Booth-Steel who was the first Nancy voted off is Olivier award nominated this year for Paddington The Musical.

And I'm guessing the 2008 revival of A Little Night Music may have been the first thing Jessie Buckley was in after the TV show. Alongside Hannah Waddingham
