A CHEEKY CHEEKY Saturday

I am NOT being snobby. I only have a COOP and small SPAR in my closest town so when I drive to do a weekly shop I can get to an M&S quicker than an Aldi or Lidl.

SUE ME.

I still know of people who go on their weekly shop to Aldi and go armed with their car boot full of M&S bags for life.

Oh I do the opposite. I usually go into M&S every Thursday afternoon to buy something lovely for breakfast on Fridays, and I make a point of pulling out my Aldi or Lidl bag for life.

I think for the majority of people location is probably the determining factor in where they shop.

As I don't drive I tend to do multiple small shops rather than one big one (and the fact that I genuinely prefer to go several times a week as I hate meal planning more than a day or two in advance), and as I work all over the city, I like to mix it up a lot.

I'm an absolute Aldi queen. Middle class as fuck. There's a lovely new Lidl about a mile away but there's something deeply off-putting about much of it.

I’m not a snob about Lidl or Aldi but I totally am about Asda.

I usually shop in Tesco though.

That could get you STABBED around these parts

(Not watching myself but saw a photoshoot recently and very much thought the same)

I’ve been here before but all you BARGAIN QUEENS should head down to Waitrose in West Malling: they reduce their sandwiches to about 16p at 18:00 or thereabouts. It was all I could do not to buy ALL of them

Ooh i used to love a visit to the bakery section in Cheltenham when everything was reduced. Central Manchester is BEREFT Of Waitroses now is quite annoying

It’s absolutely ATROCIOUS outside and I have to walk the dog. PRAY FOR ME.

We have a ridiculous amount of supermarkets considering we are such a small island. Yet a few years ago we only had a Tesco and morrison's

Oh God I want a toffee Yum Yum and bottle of Crémant now and it’s such a LONG WALK (15 minutes maximum) to Lidl :(

ALSO RAIN BY THE SOUNDS OF IT

MAKE THE BOY DO IT.

He is at his dads, and my daughter and her boyfriend are both WORKING. I did have a dog walker when I was bit busier but got a bit of a RED NECK that I always seemed to be doing nothing whenever she appeared. I don’t know why I cared as SHE WAS GETTING PAID FOR IT.

My next-door-but-one neighbour has their Christmas tree up in the living room window. Saw it on Thursday night when I went to put the bin out.

I ADORE Christmas and all the decorations but would you not just be ENTIRELY FED UP by the time Christmas actually came round if you put all the regalia up now? I certainly would be.

I do wish Aldi and Lidl would get a fresh fish counter, though.

What are you taking them for? PRESTO?

Also I’d imagine that POISSON DEMI-FRAIS would be the order of the day, although they could always write the sign in German and nobody would be any the wiser :disco:

Done with twiddling these tiny wires together trying to get the house landline back working. I can barely see them never mind see which ones have come apart to twiddle them back together. I'm not a telephone engineer!

Aldi has the best pre-packaged fresh fish section around here (1.5 lbs of salmon for 8 quid, don't mind me) -- but it still isn't a lot to shout home about.

Then again I'm living at the foot of the alps, so fresh fish other than river trout is kinda hard and expensive to come by. Game meat like deer is in peak season around here at the moment.

I’ve always found the word lingonberry a little TESTICULAR for my tastes, and that’s SAYING SOMETHING.

Sean Connery has died :o

Don't worry I found the cemetery thread!

FFS I went out nice and early to B&Q this morning to get some planters that I wanted and now I've realised I bought the wrong size. I wanted the 80cm ones but bought the 60cm one :(

I'd have thought the fact that you could bathe in it might have raised the alarm.

It is pissing it down here my loves, just as well they cancelled Halloween, can you imagine smudged green faces coming towards you.

the horror of it all

I hate Hallowe’en.

Not least because every cunt forgets the apostrophe.

I was amazed our local co-op was still full of sweets for Halloween. Hopefully they will all be reduced tomorrow.
