I don't really see what the difference is between this lockdown and Tier 3. I have the day off today and just walked to the supermarket. The only places that were actually closed were hair salons, betting shops and pubs (and of course the cinema which wasn't on my route). Every other shop and even estate agents were open, including Ikea which seemed to be available for click & collect,

Minks are fucking awful creatures anyway. Especially the invasive American minks (which is what you find in the UK and Denmark) - they destroy ecosystems and local wildlife.

I saw a FIREWORKS SHOP open yesterday

It might have been 5th of November but I doubt anyone really intended that to be essential.

ALL HOSPITALITY IS NOW SHUT (APART FROM TAKEAWAYS)
ALL NON-ESSENTIAL RETAIL IS NOW SHUT (EG, CLOTHES SHOPS, DEPARTMENT STORES, BOOK SHOPS, ETC)

I think dry cleaners are considered essential, am I meant to survive the winter WITHOUT my many cashmere jumpers?

HARDWARE STORES ARE ALLOWED TO STAY OPEN SO THE KITCHEN SHOP MAY HAVE FALLEN UNDER THAT CATEGORY

This MINK thing seems more serious than they're letting on... The UK has BANNED all travel to and from Denmark within TWO HOURS of adding them to the quarantine corridor. At 4am. Is it WILD BORIS PANIC or do they know something we don't?

Basically there is a chance the vaccines scientists have been working on will not work on the MUTANT MINK COVID, so if that spreads among the population it could be back to SQUARE ONE on the vaccine front. Also, if people who have recently had covid are not immune to this new strain, it dashes hopes for 'herd immunity' and could essentially cause an entirely new pandemic in itself.

This article in the FT explains it. Something about SPIKE PROTEINS.

But it HAS already spread to humans in Denmark! So it's only a matter of time till this new strain spreads everywhere. This is NEVER ENDING.

I'm going to predict some sort of horrifying mink/pangolin hybrid. It will probably be eight feet tall and have atomic breath, like Godzilla.

I heard that rather naughty (but admittedly tasty!) pangolin buggered a mink and now we’re in a whole new mess!

WHO’S A NAUGHTY BOY?

At least it wasn't a bat this time. A flying, giant, radioactive Coronavirus vector would be even worse.

The mink thing has potential to be quite serious. I think they need to just close all borders and not allow any travel for at least six months.

This is a horror movie and I’m concerned because I’m not a virgin :(

Although we do apparently swallow 8 spiders a year whilst sleeping.

"average person eats 3 spiders a year" factoid actualy (sic) just statistical error. average person eats 0 spiders per year. Spiders Georg, who lives in cave & eats over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

I AM VEGAN SO I HOPE I DON’T ACCIDENTALLY SWALLOW A SPIDER.

I ACCIDENTALLY ATE TWO FLIES ON MY BIKE RIDE TODAY WHICH UPSET ME SOMEWHAT
