Sister, other half and kids in isolation for two weeks after my nephew got sick(better now thankfully). Supposed to be flying home for other sisters wedding in 2 weeks time but now that might not go ahead and they´ve cancelled their honeymoon. Shitty fucking times indeed.

I will however treat myself to a few small beverages from my bar this evening to celebrate the day of St Patrick.

We have a bottle of Bushmills in for medicinal/emergency purposes but I think we can raise a glass to a united ireland tonight.

I'm not sure there's any expectation Liz is going to speak. I suspect most people are just hoping she's ok.

it's the first time she addresses the people outside the annual New Year's since the war. HISTORIC!!!

prime minister has announced a sudden press conference. I swear, if she decrees a lockdown... I will get the shivers and beyond!

I'm watching BBCan and it looks so weird without audience in the studio. I wonder if they'll keep going with it, given the amount of people that have to work there. Operación Triunfo was cancelled yesterday here and contestants were sent home after 2 months of competition.

£330 billion in loans for businesses to get through the shit.

Help for those with mortgages. What about us poor renters fuckers?

Yeah I thought there would be something for renters, they tend to be the most vulnerable in terms of employment!

They probably assume some of these monster landlords won’t still ask for rent whilst not having to pay their mortgages.

At the risk of sounding like things are divinely ordained, it really does feel like this pandemic is in response to far right rise in the world, Trump, Brexit, the environment catastrophe, and capitalism run amok. Not nature correcting itself per se, but responding.

France is not fucking around, my mom tried to go for a walk and they immediately stopped her and she has to apply for a permit online in order to be able to leave the house.

good golly. I hope it won't come to that here. however groups of 10 or more banned now, bars, restaurants, gym etc closing (take away still allowed :))

I actually miss the city right now but it eases the pain that there's fuck all to do

a friend of mine came over before noon and then another in the afternoon and they just left. we spent the whole day watching visible, cooking, eating and smoking. say the news once and it was enough.

also: i hadn't been following what's happening in the country and apparently only 450 people have been tested altogether. 450 in probably two weeks since the first death now! unbelievable. the madness is only beginning.

All very well and true but either she’s a great looking 95 year old or was far too young to remember much about rationing.

It would be like a lot of us here talking about surviving the early 90s recession. Well we were around, but didn’t quite affect us in the same way.
I struggle to watch anything featuring old people these days without suspecting they voted for Brexit, but this is doing the rounds and is quite wonderful

also: trump now calling it the "china virus". after giving his administration a 10/10 on handling the situation so far.

WE ARE LIVING IN A FARCE.

Just been speaking with my folks about it (over facetime obvs) - we were saying how its really going to highlight how poor some things are, SSP, zero hours contracts etc. Bring those to the conscious of the masses and hopefully they'll get corrected. It could be the start of some sort of revolution.
