Or at least remove any location-based features so it just lets you chat and share photos/videos with randoms, without enabling any sort of real-world contact.

So you can find someone you really like on the other side of the world?

God, you lot really ARE looking to up the suicide rate this morning :D

They really need to get someone other than Matt Hancock to do the government social distancing chastisement. The guy got the virus almost immediately so if there's one person you don't want to advise on the quality of your isolation it would be him.

I do think it's wild that the government and media are pivoting to RIGHTEOUS OUTRAGE about sunbathers when the government still hasn't shut down call centres, non essential warehouses or building sites.

Yes, just being in an open air park with other people will DOOM US ALL, but on the other hand, some luxury flats that'll stay empty for years, or a next day ASOS order are worth piling people up in workplaces for.

Whilst I agree with you, I think the point here is not that being in a park will result in Armageddon, it's the refusal of a big part of British society to think that rules apply to them too.

Marianne Faithfull has it :( I worry for her

I will be FUCKING RAGING if these STUPID CUNTS mean we can't go out for exercise anymore

I wonder if doing laps of the private road in my block would be allowed... :bruised: or running up and down the service stairwells....!

The supermarkets are the worst. People seem to bery quickly forget the 2 meter rule in them.

I don’t really see the point in policing individuals sitting in parks on their own, personally. It’s groups of people I take issue with.

This is what's coming next - no outdoor exercise, just to and from work. Which means I'll have the fucking pigs on my back.

Yup - same with the Chief Medical Officer in Scotland who has just had a WARNING FROM POLICE because she travelled to her second home in Fife from Edinburgh. What a stupid twat.

574 dead yesterday, but I think it’s lower because of the way weekend reporting is done. Still, don’t think it’s going to be a huge leap again. It’s working.

This might sound like a stupid question (although there are no stupid questions) but what does a reintegration plan look like? Because surely if everyone can just go back to normal it will just exponentially grow again if just 1 person has it?

Our prime minister was asked that and answered that that is still being discussed now. But there has been talk of a gradual lifting of the lockdown, including doing it by region or even age group (!)

That’s what the WHO are expecting apparently, it’s going to be a period of lockdowns and freedom until they finally get a vaccine.

The answer is no one knows but one thing is for certain: we won't be going back to normal after this. It may be a gradual (6-12 months) process etc. Different countries will adopt different approaches which in all likelihood means that borders may have to be closed or air travel be severely limited (airports are a major transmission environment).

We should be looking at conducting cross-sectional prevalence studies in the UK (we have a good track record of that here), which coupled with more testing, would give us an idea (months down the line) of how prevalent the virus is, and based on that, we should be looking at how measures could be lifted.

I'm still sceptical about a vaccine and I think a lot of the vaccine talk is propaganda rather than actual science but I would be delighted if a vaccine were available in a year (a good vaccine generally takes a long time to generate - but there is a lot of research money &activity currently being funnelled into that, both internationally and in the UK.)

The most dangerous thing would be to just lift the measures, but the UK government has already said on several occasions that this will not be happening. And you only need to look at Wuhan - they're only just lifting up the measures now...

No country has a reintegration plan. That is the problem there is no exit strategy. Its either keep social distancing measures periodically in hope the virus slows down over the summer like flu does but there is not a lot of evidence Coronavirus does mirror the flu, when climates that are hot/in summer now around the world are still struggling to deal with the virus. These social isolation measures would need to be around for a few years until a vaccine is made available.

OR let everyone get back to normal life and have upwards of 500,000 deaths which would grant herd immunity.

OR the least likely being the hope the virus mutates into something less dangerous.

I think that is the most realistic & likely option. The caveat, of course, is that corona will be on its way out just as flu season begins - so in terms of NHS pressures that's not particularly helpful but I digress.

Clearly that's what Trump wanted for the USA because his main worry was the economy but I think that ship has sailed and there is a consensus internationally that this would be an immoral approach.

Unlikely as you say - as it appears that this virus is less prone to mutations like, say, the flu virus - but you never know.

Supermarkets by their very nature aren’t designed for these kind of measures though, and no amount of floor markings will help that. You have to rely on the common sense of strangers to keep their distance, and LORD KNOWS that’s a STRETCH.

I guess it’s more the message that sitting down in a park sends out. Earlier as we were walking we saw a couple sunbathing, and then a family playing football nearby. The girl kicked the ball over towards the couple and she ran over to get it and the man in the couple handed the ball back to her.

She was a massive DICK but if she’s otherwise good at her job, WHO CARES?

Why are we so desperate to be PERPETUALLY OUTRAGED?

Not a good move by Sturgeon given that there are folk after her job and some of them have support in the media.

I was typing while you posted but basically, there are folk after her job who are stoking it up and making sure her face is on the front pages next to all the bad news (something Boris has largely avoided by hiding out).

I wonder if any of the gammons will reign it in because Her Maj has told them to?

I suppose it’s an exceptional time and continuity is needed in her department. It probably would not be in the National interest to let her resign, I get that, but in any other situation her position would be completely untenable.

Look, Prince Charles did it too so we're going to have a tough job knocking anyone off their pedestal over that.

FFS, I think my flat mate might have it. She’s aching all over with extreme fatigue. In fact got suddenly weak that she dropped her drink (of whiskey and coke) all over herself - personally don’t think she should be drinking. She’s denying a cough but she was coughing quite a lot last night and this morning.

I’ve ordered her up to bed to take her temperature but she’s currently refusing which is bloody selfish.

Well if she has it, I’m bound to have it with no symptoms. I have a bit of a tickly throat but nothing else.

OT: I believe this is the third biggest ever topic on Moopy. After Pokemon Go and the relationships topic.

I'd never noticed the tooth before now either :o

All I can think of is how EASY it would be to greenscreen that dress into something else.
