Yes. Kat was an amazing character when The Slaters arrived on the square, and although quite an iconic storyline Zoe was always quite beige for me.

Yes. Zoe and Dennis were together but he clearly didn’t love her, so she trapped him with a fake pregnancy, then tried to actually get pregnant. It wasn’t happening so Dirty Den started sleeping with Zoe to “help” her.

I'm with you.

I still maintain that Zoe hugely benefitted from being part of storylines that were actually driven by stronger characters (Kat, Chrissie, Den). Strip those out, and Zoe was just another of the "mouthy teen" archetypes that have always been massively oversupplied on the show.

I fully expect she's now been brought back to be the resident MISERY QUEEN now they've lost Whitney and
Stacey

Always brings me back to the time when Janine couldn't find a JOB - But she'd spent weeks LOOKING ALL AROUND THE SQUARE for one.
 
I presume Kat is the one that got shot and that’ll keep Zoe from leaving.

Zoe was pissing me off a lot yesterday. She was just telling blatant untruths about her childhood.
 
How old are Kat and Zoe meant to be now?

I’m thinking they are going to have to give Zoe an emergency hysterectomy so she will go back out looking for her son (I’m assuming the little girl died?)
 
And her son would be 19 and Den Watts the father?

I could have sworn that there had been some off-screen meetings between Kat and Zoe in Spain a couple of years after she left, and then Kat came back having been rejected?
 
I know I was quite critical about the return of Zoe as I didn’t find her to be that great a character first time round but this weeks episodes have been

OK I’m so confused…

It feels like we’re in for a few major retcons in this plot.
 
Also this is a total mirror of Kat except with the genders swapped. They never confirmed that her daughter had died, she just assumed that. I bet she’s still alive.

That was heavily speculated and it seemed like that's what was being set up, but it seems much less likely to be the case now.

My Eastenders history is patchy at best. I do remember Kat was always a good time girl but can’t remember her being physical towards Zoe. Did Zoe leave on bad terms with Kat? I think Zoe did say that she wanted to go back to when they were all young as they used to have so much fun after she was shot so am assuming a lot of things she said was in haste.
 
If memory serves, I don’t remember too much friction between Kat and Zoe after the general fallout of the big revelation. She was in the show for 5 years and she found out about Harry just one year in, ran away for a bit and nearly became a prostitute but Kat found and saved her.

Then came Zoe dating Anthony (which was weird) and her being in a relationship with Dennis and the whole sleeping with Den to keep him situation, which had nothing to do with Kat and everything to do with Chrissy.
 
Weren't Kat and Zoe both involved with Anthony? I think there was a lot of friction around that time, and some things were said later on, but yes they did part on good terms.

It's not a complete undoing of history though as Kat and Zoe have been written as estranged for at least a decade now.
 
Yes, Kat and Anthony were an item early on. They were long over when Zoe was with him, but her infatuation with him did seem to be motivated to annoy Kat.
