Kylie - Padam Padam (1st single, May 18th) (2 Viewers)

Oh SORRY. I saw who was posting it and made the presumption.

And as for the chart not existing in the 80s, it kinda did- it's just the evolution of the Pepsi Chart which used to be on Commercial Radio, no?

I remember the Pepsi Chart on Capital with Neil Fox but I thought that station was owned by a different conglomerate. Global, I think.

Wasn’t the Pepsi Chart made up until it got to the top ten? Then it reflected the Official Chart?

They used to make it up as they went along. When I was a kid it included airplay APPARENTLY but it was suspiciously just a RANDOM made up chart.

Sounds like the chart in the video shop where I worked when I was in sixth form. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean Claude Van Damme blockbusters nowhere, Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Pfeiffer always #1 :disco:

extended mix is doing solid numbers - 35k yesterday for a total of 575k with both versions. last sunday she did 509k. so it's still growing very nicely :disco:

Back to #1 on iTunes and apparently sold approximately 840 copies in the last 24 hours on that platform.

Could be she gets much more on Friday and Saturday due to it being a ‘party’ song more than a chill in the afternoon track. Also maybe the extended mix took a slice? Or even it’s movement up a few key playlists yesterday? Numbers are so close I guess positions can move quite a bit even if the song itself isn’t seeing much streamimg change.

Either way, this is fantastic. 630 or so behind #10 in midweeks now, at #13. Cassettes not added until Thursday. If it keeps this streaming up it’s going to be close.

It just seems to be building and building. I really hope she has some TV promo lined up.

Plus surely there will be a vinyl package coming (presuming they've been able to get into the pressing plants!).

They really are playing a blinder with this.

if not this week it'll be top 10 next week for sure. why are cassette sales only added at the end of this chart week?

That’s actually a really good line up (if you’re of a certain age) though quite why Shalamar are so far up the billing when Jody Watley left in the 80s is beyond me, not that the crowd is likely to know once they get the hits out.

Highlights of the Capital Ball are on ITV this Saturday at 7pm. I'm assuming she's considered a highlight :eyes:

They're shipping on Thursday I believe and that's the date that counts...

I think it's quite crafty the way they withhold shipping until Thursdays. That way they can gauge whether they need to chuck a remix or an instrumental or karaoke guide track onto Kylie.com to assist if needs be. :disco:

Aside from being overjoyed for Kylie I am also happy for BMG (well as much as you can be for a record company). This is surely their most successful song ever?
