9th: Sjonni's Friends - Coming Home (49pts)

Oh Moopy, you heartless bastards!
For those unfamiliar with the back story, the original singer/songwriter of this song - one Sjonni Brinck - died suddenly at the age of 37, just before the national final. Rather than withdrawing his entry, a bunch of his pals got together and performed the song in his place, understandably winning a huge national sympathy vote in the process.
The sympathy was a bit more lacking at Eurovision, where this finished a lowly 20th, but then we're talking about a contest that once welcomed a Bosnian who literally fled from Sarajevo in a hail of bulletfire and rewarded him with 16th place.
Anyway, it's a crap song but as a whole package it's nicely jaunty and heartfelt without being maudlin. And yes, I would 100% have sex with that bear.
1 x 8 (Pingu)
2 x 0 (Jacques, lolly)
before they move on to fisting themselves to Hatari in secondary school.

Oh and ?1 x 8 (Buttertart)
Not even their disturbing name for a Spaniard is funny at all. Next.8th: Pollaponk - No Prejudice (56pts)
Oh what fun!![]()
Now, to be fair, Pollapönk is literally a punk band for children, presumably indoctrinating them early with some peppy songs about learning your ABCs before they move on to fisting themselves to Hatari in secondary school.

John Grant should probably just do Eurovision himself at some point, it's not like anybody gives a shit about his albums now he's all 'happy' and 'emotionally stable'.

The English lyrics were of course dashed off by none other than not-quite-as-good-as-he-used-to-be Moopy hero John Grant. He should probably just do Eurovision himself at some point, it's not like anybody gives a shit about his albums now he's all 'happy' and 'emotionally stable'.
! Harsh but fair! I’ve lost all interest in him and his songs about supposedly terrible men he was with for about five minutes. NEXT INDEED!What a pervert!t @COB made about how he'd happily fuck every single one of them.

It's 'Eggy Queef' to me.I always pretend he’s singing GET A LIFE

". Looking back now every TOM DICK AND PAUL REY does SCREEN SORCERY, THAT DATED WELL

Oh I was talking about GRETA, but yeah SVALA too.Awww that definitely deserved to make it out of its semi![]()
Definitely this. Underwhelming stage show aside, the song itself was the musical equivalent of a shelving unit - functional and present are the most enthusiastic adjectives you can apply to it.Or maybe, as evidenced by its utter failure in the celebrated VoR hum test when I revisited this round, it just isn't actually very good?
