"I'll be There For You" really is impossible to hear without expecting it to just stop after the first chorus. I wonder if they got wealthy off of it or if the industry ripped them off as per usual.
 
Christ, the lyrics to that Montell Jordan record are GRIM. Absolutely would not fly today.
 
Why did Echobelly decide to wear school uniform? Not their best record, not by a long way.
 
Michael Bolton - shite. Always pulled that ultra-sincere facial expression that just made him look like he hadn't had a shit in a month.
 
Mark Lamaar probably very pleased with himself for getting to say "Throbbing Gristle" on Top Of The Pops. I don't think he was well known at the time.
 
Whigfield's ballad is dreadful. Glad to have forgotten about this entirely.
 
"Stay With Me" is usually seen as the tail end of Erasure's imperial phase but I always liked it. The presentation being consciously plain was interesting.
 
I just started another episode but D;Ream are so shite, I cannot be bothered.

I've seen Louise sing Light of my Life live on several occasions and she's never particularly struggled with it. It always bemuses me how at this point in her career she'd routinely lip sync even when standing stock still, as here. I wonder if it was a confidence issue?

You'd think she'd be extra motivated to prove herself after spending all that time stuck behind those evil Bennetts. :(
 
Fuck me Hale & Pace really are completely intolerable.

Thank fuck for Kylie. I remember being so INTRIGUED by Where The Wild Roses Grow as a kid.
 
I know Nick Cave is a legend, but bless, TOTP clearly wasn't his natural element. He looks like some (unusually haggard and ghoulish looking) teenager that Kylie's dragged up onstage with her against his will. :D
 
I'm finding this lengthy stretch at #1 for Simply Red quite TRIGGERING. It takes me right back to being strapped into the back of my parent's clapped out car with the seatbelt cutting off my circulation and no way to escape.
 
With every terrible #15 hit PJ & Duncan crop up with on this show, I find myself feeling a little more sorry for them. This Krazy Kats song is genuinely embarassing.

Cutting off the excellent end part of What Do I Do Now? for Hale and Pace twattery was not pleasing.

I forgot about Never Knew Love but it is a good song. Must have been a bit dated for 95 though. Saying that you have Louise with the cutting edge Light of My Life.

I definitely preferred Kylie's first look from the two performances. Her makeup job in the second was bordering on Trixie Mattel.
 
I always feel sorry for the dancers in mid 90s TOTP. So many of them have to wear PVC trousers and it's just an infection waiting to happen.
 
I had forgotten that Lloyd Cole had a 'late' hit. Was this from a greatest hits or something?

'Fairground' was shite. Genuinely amazed to this day that it was such a big hit. Hucknell had expunged everyone from the group except the keyboard player by this time, hadn't he?
 
Don't remember this Outhere Brothers one. Classic example of the "dead cat bounce" hit.
 
"Misshapes" might not be Pulp's best but it was perfectly timed with faux-Liams strutting around the country's city centres looking for a fight. A lot of people got it. In the end, it was completely overshadowed by "Sorted For E's And Whizz" but the song still mattered.
