I know the charts aren't the same as they used to be, but I'm not sure a week at #69 is really ticking along okay, is it?
Far fewer promo opportunities for new pop music, and they weren't competing with pretty much EVERY SONG EVER for chart 'sales'.It’s interesting.
When the Spice Girls all went solo, the way the charts were set up meant they could rack up multiple top ten hits each pretty much on fanbase alone, plus they'd be reliably performing on all the TV shows - TOTP, CD:UK, Popworld etc. None of those are a thing anymore, so unless you can launch to Harry Styles-style global megastardom, it's really difficult to make much of an impression.
