She was asked point blank about how it was a bit of trickery on her part to do Här Står Jag in 2016 and then come back with Mitt Liv the year after. She yielded that she understood, but said that if she kept doing the same thing every time people would tire of her (I’m not saying for sure she alluded to Linda Bengtzing in this part but she did mention dresses) and that she hoped people would identify with her little ballad that could, but obviously not enough did :D
 
I do feel for her, but Mitt Liv was like the mild buzz single you release BEFORE your Melfest entry, not the Melfest entry itself.

I still think something like Wiktoria's As I Lay Me Down could have been a nice fit for her if she wanted to go down the guitar route. But of course she'd never have been offered it. :(
 
Anyway, I’m prepared for crushing defeat on Saturday night but if she does bomb out, I’m abandoning MF forever.

Well, at least a week.

I think I heard the same interview. She claimed that she could choose between Agnes 'Love Love Love' (then aptly named 'Dance Dance Dance' and being more disco) and 'Heroes' but chose the latter. Didn't she also mention that Mitt Liv was her springboard to get into Så Mycket Bättre?

Now it all makes sense :horny: she needed something "genuine" to cry about on the "get to know me" shows :D

I remember she said that she only went in with Mitt Liv as it would be a good way of promoting her new album and that three minutes performing to three million viewers is the best advertisement you can get.

I originally predicted Andra Chansen for this weekend, but I'm starting to think she might go direct after the relatively favourable reviews yesterday (even from Larsson!) but I'll reserve final judgement until we've heard the songs. There appears to be controversy surrounding Mustache according to Aftonbladet, not sure what effect that could have.

yes, the controversy is that the lead singer of Mustache was convicted of sexual misconduct for putting a bottle of alcohol between this woman’s breasts during the recording of a commercial. He was charged and in order to pay off the fine the group produced and sold t-shirts with a picture of breasts and a bottle of alcohol in between them.

the victim is saying that she thinks it’s wrong that he gets a platform like this, and SVT have responded saying that he’s already had his punishment for that crime.

I went to bed seeing the picture of Charlotte's hair on the ground and I had a REALLY unsettled night's worth of sleep.

Now I realise why. It triggered things I had buried in the back of my mind.
 
Review of Charlotte's performance by Schlagerprofilerna:
Just the opening in silhouette and backlight in front of a giant diamond is probably enough for most schlager gays to lie flat or scream with happiness…

...but then it just keep going! The number is a great "catwalk show", not unlike the opening of Eurovision 2016 (aka the best opening of a Eurovision ever in my book), Charlotte looks nicer and younger than ever before (1999 included - it's 22 years ago!) and delivers like a true legend! No names from last week should be mentioned, but when Perrelli burns off that long note just before the song falls silent and stops majestically for a while (where it probably should have been a key change anyway). Well when she burns off THAT NOTE there's no Lars behind the scenes so to say :wink: Schlagerchills!!!

This is a song made by pros (+ Baby G: son) performed by the competition's perhaps most legendary artist where the legendary performance producers have gone "all in" on what a schlager should look like in this competition 2021. The result ? Legendary.

I love this if you haven't noticed. It knows exactly what it is and to whom it should be directed and it misses nothing on the way there. Lovely. And a long time ago this pop guy felt so wonderfully gay.
