Slow really is a CORKER, but how many people bought the album off the back of it and didn't get quite what they wanted? :D

Lots of people were a bit MEH about it on Dot if I recall. Not me. It’s BLINDING.
 
"Slow" might be my favorite Kylie song of the new millennium. Maybe tied with "The One" but we will see about that later. "Slow" somehow sounds better than everything more successful than it at the time. She WON.

Haven't listened to Body Language for years but there are some lovely choice cuts. X, too. In fact both are really interesting mish mash periods for her even if it was ALL OVER THE SHOP
 
10 Slow

now obviously I do love Slow. it's a classic AND THEN SOME - one of her greatest signature hits. HOWEVER it's been done on tour so many times, in so many incarnations/remixes, almost ALL better than the original, that playing the studio version sometimes feels a bit lacking (through no fault of its own).
 
Those final synths of "Slow" and immediate transition into "Still Standing". I am deceased
 
I know the vocals on this album are divisive but I LOVE them. She is channeling her inner PRINCE.
 
I still don't LOVE "Slow" but appreciate what it's trying to do, and it feels important for Kylie to have these sort of hits.

Surely only number one because of her stock at the time though
 
is it the Les Folies tour version of Slow which turns it into a sultry jazz standard? now that was INCREDIBLE

She generally adds something to Slow or mashes it up with other songs when she does it live - the original is so minimal that it works very well for that sort of thing, I suppose.
 
Still Standing is such a BOPPY DELIGHT. that addictive, video game beat bouncing around in constant motion, the vocodered BVs, it's a feel-good pleasure.

there's a general thought that Kylie herself is NON TOO HOT on Body Language these days, right? I wonder if she also refers to it as Bowel Leakage. *teehee* *clunk*
 
Still Standing is fun, a bit of a coked up "Slow". Not super memorable for Kylie but full of TWITCHY JOY

She doesn't really sound like Kylie. But I don't think I am on board with whoever she is trying to be.
 
I’m giving it a 10 because I have fond memories but it does sound a little dated.
 
While Madonna was rightfully slighted for her foray into rap in 2003, Kylie saved lives with "Secret (Take You Home)"

Secret (Take You Home) is outrageous. Hard to believe she tried it - it BARELY works and yet, conversely, feels like a bit of a triumph once the relief kicks in that Kylie rapping isn't even 10% as hideous as it should have been.

Secret is so ridiculously 2003, how can you not love it?
