Rihanna to headline 2023 Superbowl halftime show (definitely)

I mean it was fine. It was the hits and it looked impressive, but it just seemed lazy and I don't think we heard her voice once.
 
Kind of basic medley of the greatest hits, really. Competent but not groundbreaking.
 
Quite a way to reveal you're pregnant I guess, but pregnancy is not giving the gays what they want.
 
That platform looked quite wobbly to me. There was a moment during Diamonds when she was clearly shitting herself.
 
I saw her "live" about 12 years ago. I was drunk and star struck and loved every second. But she's just not a very exciting performer.
 
This looks like it would be filled with chaos but instead she's just standing around with flashing lights. No outfit change so far. Reminds of the Weeknds performance.

If she's pregnant than nobody will hate on her for that reason. She's not going to be critiqued as hard.
 
I've seen Rihanna live before and while she relies HEAVILY on backing vocal tracks it did appear she's a competent live singer when she wants, albeit a very lazy one, glad to see some things never change.
 


at 20:00 time mark the show starts. the version i found was spanish so thats why there's subtitles in spanish.
 
Very boring. Serving industry plant realness.

The dancers were very cool, but I wish the choreography was more creative/interesting.

she was giving hits and star quality, what more do you want? the medley was stunningly well arranged and I loved the techno flourishes in the first half and some of the weirdo choreo. every song I predicted made it other than Love on the Brain (which would've been a moment!).

as halftime shows go I think it's upper tier in recent years.
 
doing it solo (with her 500 dancers) was a serve. I hate when the women allow male collaborators onto the stage out of PITY.

Nary a live vocal in sight, and the dancing was so half-hearted.

The staging was excellent but wasted on something so mediocre.
 
Still think that was a weird setlist. That doesn’t read Rihanna Greatest Hits at all.
