S12 E10: Superfan Makeover

Crystal should've won! What a lovely surprise she's turned out to be.

Never bought into Jackie Cox so I'm glad she's out.
 
The thing with Crystal that bothers me, is that they just don’t rate her. They have their top 3 (Jaida, Gigi and Sherri) and they feel no need to award anyone else because they want to create the narrative.
 
I hope it’s Jaida and not Gigi, we haven’t had a pageant girl win in a while and she’s the best we’ve gotten. Gigi will always dress good but it’s all gotten a bit boring.

Heidi’s win shows that that isn’t the case at all...
 
Yeah Heidi has no chance (had no chance since they have an opening in the fourth spot). I just don’t get why they don’t spread the wealth when there are other queens that could get a win (Jan could have won the Madonna challenge, Crystal should have won this one). Instead Gigi and Jaida have 3 wins each and Sherry has 2.
 
Heidi is a skint personality QUEEN. Very relatable, very likeable.
 
The thing with Gigi is she is MODELESQUE with a great body and always looks great in her outfits. She does have talent in sewing BUT I think her mother does most of the work, she even alluded to the fact a bit previously. The past three weeks have shown that aside from her looks, most of the other stuff has been disappointing, and she's been shown to be a bit, well, dull really. I still think she is likely to win, but I think we have seen the best she can give, and I am a bit over her.
 
I'm glad Gigi's basic outfit was called out, I half expected them to fawn over how "chic" it was. To be fair their runway performance was fun.

Gutted for Crystal - she had that in the bag and has really come into her own, but like Heidi she falters a lot and both are buoyed by being thoroughly charming rather than especially great at the tasks. Totally robbed here though.

This season is weird, it's so strong but no one is a standout star, they've all fudged it in some way or gone off the boil at some point. Which really brings it back to Jaida who is certainly the most consistent with the least criticism of them all. I imagine she'll get the win now unless Gigi turns it around.
 
I can't even rank them now because the three most likeable queens are for me arguably the three "least good".

Well obviously I don't know how likeable Sherry is, I'll have to ask Allison Mossey.

Yeah Crystal has been pretty consistent. And so incredibly likeable.

She's certainly been very good recently but I thought she was quite wobbly early on? Not the same maybe, no, and clearly she's come a long way but I haven't been hugely impressed on the whole. Maybe she's just flown under my radar a bit - apart from this week I don't think I ever had her in my top 2 for any task.

I think I just forget her in a lot of weeks (which is a problem in itself) so I might have to rewatch her challenges.
 
I'd agree it's only in the last three or four weeks that Crystal has inspired confidence in her talent. And yet she still to me feels as if her position is precarious - even if because when she should have had greater recognition she didn't get it, and because others who should have arguably been read harder haven't been.
 
I imagine Crystal will end up second only to Gigi in terms of instagram followers. Which is a lousy measure of 'success', but probably does affect the amount of bookings they get going forward, assume.

This is now the 4th week in a row that I feel they've overranked Gigi. I am totally missing something with her.

Overall rankings for me personally:

1. Jaida
2. Jackie
3. Heidi
4. Crystal;
5. Gigi
6. Sherry

I mean Sherry really not helped by the fact we never see her. I really would like to judge her on her actual merits, but whatever.
 
So pleased about the double save - probably my 2 favourite queens overall, even if I think Jaida has been the more consistent performer. Even though I thought it was going to happen because they both performed so well in the lip sync I didn't let myself believe it until it happened as I wanted them to both stay so much.

What on earth was that lipsync about by Jackie? I really didn’t get it at all and thought it was a total mess.

It really feels like Jaida is being set up to win now, and rightly so. Gigi is good, but we just had Aquaria 2 seasons ago.

A proper pageant win would feel CORRECT, especially as Asia, A’Keria and Kennedy all came so close but never actually snatched the crown.

Bob was saying on Pit Stop that there's a wall of fabric at their disposal so it just sounds like bad time management to me.

I mean this was purposefully garish, it’s not like she thought she was serving high fashion.
 
I think Jackie is gonna be SHIT at the stand-up style challenge next week too - she really overthinks that kind of challenge. :(
 
So far this is quite a strong season. The queens are producing some pretty brilliant work. Definitely better than season 11
