Saturday Night Live

I don't know if I'm just faceblind but I'm pretty sure I've never seen that woman in my life.

She looks quite different in that pic to be fair. She had a breakout season last year thanks to the infamous Beavis and Butthead sketch with Ryan Gosling when she completely lost it (and she was quite well known for not breaking)

that's silly because he would have been the perfect fit to replace Che on Weekend Update; his deadpan delivery of jokes was very good.
There was a report that he filmed a test in May with one of their female writers who was due to be promoted, but clearly nothing came of that.

Just read an article saying it’s to “shake up the show”. In that case, let Kenan leave! Or is he chained to 30 Rock? Anyway, the likes of Heidi deserve a proper announcement mid-season and an end of season send off.

so many white men! he top left is from Please Don't Destroy and a writer on the show so that's fun that he'll be in other skits now too. can't believe they booted four and added FIVE to the already HUGE CAST!

I hope Ben being in the main show won't mean any less Please Don't Destroy. I know they only pop up like once every 3-4 weeks, but their hit rate is terrific.

Of the departees, I'm sad about Heidi (why the fuck didn't she get a proper send off?? Was it not HER CHOICE to go or something?), plus Emil Wakim and Michael Longfellow. I thought all were VERY GOOD.

Not to sound like a man on the internet who hates women, but I was confused as to why Jane Wickline is still there - so I googled aaaand it turns out her parents know Lorne.

WHO IS LEFT? Just Kenan and that girl that looks like Elliot Page.

Do you mean Sarah Sherman? God knows how she has managed to stay for so many seasons being so MEH. also, I read Jane Wickline is a nepobaby so no surprise as to why she stays afloat, even though as a featured player, but still.

According to Wiki, this is the final lineup. Also, hasn't Kenan been threatening to leave for over five years now? He's never gonna leave.

I'm excited but only cautiously so since they got rid of half my faves

Sabrina is quite the actress and sounded great live

I also love the promo for her appearance.

Just watched the Sabrina Carpenter episode and barely raised a smile once. Even the Weekend Update was bad. They’re really missing the cast from last season. And Sabrina clearly mimed her first song. They’re second song also sounded a bit like The Land of Make Believe.

the last two eps have been a big upgrade on the first few of the season - Glen Powell killed it in the sketches and Nikki Glaser's monologue was really fucking funny (and far too close to the wire for most of the studio audience)

Ashley Padilla has been excellent and this turn on Weekend Update was everything

loved these too

I'm so glad they're giving Ashley so much screentime this season; I thought Chloe was going to be the go-to replacement for Heidi. The less said about Jane, the better.
I agree that most of this season so far has been a snoozefest and terrible jokes all around; surprised the Amy Poehler episode sucked so much. Perhaps her humor is too millennial-coded and probably got a bunch of rewrites before it aired, but considering the Nikki Glasser opening monologue (LOVE HER), clearly they don't give a fuck about offending anyone.

I like that they are a bit desperate, having Melissa McCarthy and Cher (!!) return in the December episodes; colour me excited.

EDIT: The Bob Army sketch was great, partly thanks to Glenn Powell, who did the most, I love him; strange that it included almost the whole cast sans Marcelo.

This one really made me laugh from the Miles Teller episode… because the exact same thing happened to my friend this year. I got a call from her frantic husband who was about to call the police when she had never come home. She had gone out to dinner with mums from her kids’ school and it was on the calendar, and she’d even reminded him that morning :D

that episode was a big fat meh, other than Weekend Update which I always find funny.

I'm still in shock at how the hell Jane Wickline has managed to make it this far! No lines, no redeemable funny skills, sometimes no screen time at all :D I actually thought this episode was better than others, but the bar is very low this season; I haven't managed to gel with the new cast. Also, the fact that (somehow) a lot of Ego's old skits have been appearing on my IG feed doesn't help at all. I miss her so much.

Chloe, Sarah, and Ashley don't hold a candle to past lineups like, say, Cecily, Vanessa, Kate, and Aidy. And I love Ashley, though. She's been the biggest revelation so far and I hope she gets upgraded to a regular cast member.
