I haven’t heard it but I’m reading some lover (album) comparisons. And that the lead single sounds like Imagine Dragons :bruised:
 
Yes, rumours spreading that this is not the all-in tits-out-doing-the-Macarena album that was anticipated.

Physical stock has also apparently not been delivered to the shops yet and is landing tomorrow - that may be US specific but it did happen with Reputation in the UK where they tried a similar thing to reduce/avoid leaks and the distributors fucked it up so HMV had no copies until Saturday.
 
Initial quick rate

The Fate of Ophelia - 4/10. Would be better if it leant more into ripping off Wrecking Ball as I thought it was going to when I heard the intro.
Elizabeth Taylor - 3/10. If "I Did Something Bad" was a Born To Die album track.
Opalite - 3/10. Bruno Mars ass sounding midtempo song.
Father Figure - 5/10. I guess this might be a single? Has TIkTok potentional. "I can't make deals with the devil BECAUSE MY DICK IS BIGGER". :eyes:
Eldest Daughter - 2/10. Soundtrack bait for THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY type show.
Ruin The Friendship - 2/10. Another word salad song set to a generic sample song that comes with a drum machine.
Actually Romantic - 4/10. WHY make a diss song to Charli XCX that sounds like Weezer covering Pixie's Where Is My Mind :D
Wi$h Li$t - . 3/10. This song feels homophobic and a nationalist white aryan anthem
Wood - . 3/10. Is this a Jackson 5 sample? Sounds like Lizzo covering I Want You Back.
CANCELLED! 5/10. I think this might be my favourite because it sounds like something from the Trent Renzor & Atticus Ross Halsey album :D
Honey 2/10. Another song that sounds like a sample MIDI song from a Yamaha keyboard.

omg :disco: I don't trust this review as having any basis in reality but I still choose to be excited for this one. but also - as if Tay has the range!

If you're going to be ludicrously petty, at least do it with a good song. And don't sing "it's kinda making me wet" Taylor.

God it's amazing how thin skinned the most wealthy and powerful people in the world often turn out to be, isn't it? :side-eye:
 
I feel like the Taylor 'diss' track on brat isn't really a diss track and is more an exploration of Charli's own insecurities, so it's quite funny that Taylor has responded with an actual diss track that accidentally exposes her own insecurities.

It's quite "early Lana". Not sure yet, I found it a bit cheesy but it'll grow of course. In fact by the time the second chorus came around I'm already more into it.

This is pleasant as far as ballads go but it doesn't really do much.

Her voice sounds DIFFERENT. Maybe I'm just so used to the Antonoff production, but they've left it very RAW in the mix and I'm not sure they SHOULD

This has a bit of swing to it as least. It gives me Midnights bonus track vibes, which I mean as a compliment.
